Switzerland are always first to enter. I'd expect Netherlands before the year's out. Anyway, can't say I like this one, too lo-fi and cutesy for my taste. Probably won't make the final, and certainly not a patch on their 2009 entry.

Addenum: Scratch that Netherlands idea, looks like we'll be getting Albania (usually good) on the 25th and then Romania on New Year's Eve. Hopefully they'll both sound like their 2010 entries because I loved both.

In my opinion I think their trying to be like Lena since she won. Netherlands from what I know is the band 3JS is the representative for Netherlands. Song? No idea, but it will be in Dutch & I think their using the same song writer they used for 2010 (Please no...) If I can recall, Albania will choose their representative on Christmas & Romania on New Years Eve. Havnt heard any of the Albania songs yet, but I know Kejsi Tola is in it. I also heard Romania entries...some are ok, but not that as awesome as Paula & Ovi in 2010 or Luminiţa Anghel & Sistem in 2005.

Oh God yes, Italy's. They haven't been in since 1997. Also lol at Netherlands 2010. The guy who wrote ours (Pete Waterman) was basically the only person who liked it, and because it didn't make the final, he threw a whole hissy fit about how the Europeans wouldn't know a good song if it hit them in the face. Which is rather hypocritical considering his shit would be dated for 1994.

It was hilarious when we came last. He was all "I'm never entering this again!" We were all "Thank God!"

I'm sorry but I really hated the UK's entry, it sounds like one of those songs you'll hear in a Disney special. There's a rumor though that Charlotte Church will be for the UK in 2011. The only country that may not be in 2011 is Slovakia & that its a maybe that San Marino, Hungary, & Montenegro will be back & Austria confirmed its coming back. Liechtenstein may also appear for the first time too

I remember watching the semi & hearing them getting boo'd. I wanted Slovakia, Poland or Malta in the final instead of Russia. Belarus always gives 12 points to Russia no matter what, same with Cyprus & Greece, Azerbaijan & Turkey, etc. They even do it JESC Seriously?

Edit: I realized we just filled up about 1 1/2 pages of this thread with us talking about Eurovision. Awesome!

The blocs have always been a Eurovision factor. It's never changed. Although you ask the Eastern Europeans and they say all the talk about bloc voting is because the Westerners are just jealous. Even in 2007, when not one Western country got out of the semi finals, and the best West Europe country finished 17th. Out of 25.

Unless you count Turkey as Western Europe because they got 4th place in 2007, Greece came in 7th

To make it short : it broken my entire weekend by stoping me to go to Paris, see some friends and next (try to) travel to Vlissingen (Netherlands) to play A LOT of itg there.

Serioulsy i'm pissed, i had so many things to plan at the last minute and shit, everything is dead now.
Oh and i slept 1h30/2h this night, short night for nothing.
Anyway i could make a very long post about this but i'll save you this.

So I was at a nearby store doing an errand when I heard music playing. The store owner told me that she allowed a group of girls to dance in exchange for money (while most carolers are content grabbing the nearby thing they could that makes noise and sing that same medley of Christmas songs, some like to make an exception, like sing Christmas songs the right way or dance).

So there they are dancing. What kept me smiling a little was that they were dancing to Ke$ha's Tik Tok and they were doing it in a busy street (where cars, motorcycles and the like pass by frequently). I swear, the ones on motorcycles were this || close to tapping the poor young girls' (the ones at the furthest back) britches.

It's definitely that time of the year to keep the doors closed (and its gonna go on for 9 days, unlike 1 night on your American Halloween eve). And no, its tradition that you hand them money, not chicken pot pie or potato salad.
