RUSHED VOTES! Yay. All of these were only played once except love & cyber -french moga mix- and One (Original Mix).
Billie Jean; Sadly, I agree with everyone else. There were goofy spins everywhere, and the BPM gimmicks (ESPECIALLY the end of the slow part) were very hard to see coming. I actually nearly failed because of them. .__.; Such a shame, I kinda like the song (and music video) too.
For Sure; Very solid chart, and the song is so awesome too. Although, I do think most of the 16ths should've been 24ths, and there was at least 1 instance where a 4th should've been a 16th too, but otherwise, I like this chart. The spins were cool too. :3
I Need to Know; This song is reminiscent of Wannabe by Spice Girls. Heavy is very basic. Challenge, whoa. This one was interesting. It's not everyday I see 64th gallops. However, I sightread full combo'd both heavy and challenge, and getting past them was no problem. It took me a while to realize there were footswitches. :P I like this chart.
Lips Are Movin'; Wow, that music video is distracting. O.o Anyway, this was alright. I did detect some strange doublesteps or footswitches, though. Might wanna work on that.
love & cyber -french moga mix-; Ooh, Moba Moga in the background... XP Anyway, this STARTED okay, I didn't mind the streams even though I messed up on them quite a bit. The slowdowns were a bit unexpected, but still tolerable, but then we get to the double BPM segment and... I...really don't think this was necessary. :/ Otherwise, the chart is kinda cool, except for one possible doublestep somewhere in the middle of the chart (before the speedup).
Miami Sunset Drive; OH MY GOD THIS SONG IS AWESOME. And both charts were perfect. The rhythm choices were good, there weren't any doublesteps whatsoever... PERFECT. Good job!
One (Original Mix); Hm... Heavy isn't bad at all, however, it does have some doublesteps. Challenge, however.... That 24th stream at the beginning really wasn't necessary. In fact, this chart is a clone of the heavy chart with added arrows... If you want to make a challenge chart, try to distinguish A LOT further than the heavy chart than just adding more arrows to make it harder. :/
Over the Skyblue; Hm, yeah, there are some streams that don't go to anything and some unforced doublesteps, however, they are able to get past easily. I find this chart interesting and I think it deserves a COUPLE of points (it has 0 so far, lol).
Pumpkin Panic; Nothing jumped at me with heavy, except for that unexpected speedup. As for challenge, however... Holy crap. It was easy to catch onto most of the footswitches, but then the ridiculously elaborate crossover footswitches and "shock arrows" started to confuse me. That triplet at the end turned me off, but this is a really interesting one otherwise.
Re:GENERATION; Mm... Song is okay. I think the charts did it justice, and those BPM changes were smooth too. I sightread FC'd this.
Saturday Night Groove; Cool song. The heavy chart has some strange spins at the beginning half and then it's just a smooht ride (even though I messed up twice). The challenge chart confused me a lot. O.o In addition to some rhythms in the song just being weird to play (which is the song's fault, not yours), there were crazy tricks such as spins, shock arrows, and footswitches... I guess if I replay it a couple of times, I can master everything.
SPLASH; Wow, the song is good, and heavy chart was cool. I liked the usage of 12ths and 24ths here, and the spins here too. However, the challenge chart... felt a little too chaotic for my likening. I didn't think those 24th streams were necessary and some of them are weird and have gallops that didn't sit well with me... Good heavy chart, though.
Umbrella; This one... was... really weird to play. I don't know, I just kept messing up on the chart for some reason, even though the notes ARE accurate to the rhythm.... It's still good, though.
werewolf howls.; 12 points... Thank you everyone, I was worried I completely blew this, but it seems as though I did this song some sort of justice... because it seems a little understepped, though, I guess look out for a challenge chart someday. :P
Xanadu; Ooh, the original one. :3 Both charts were a nice run through the park and fit the song well, and I like the spins used in them.

I want to use my fist veto because I don't want to use the song from other arcade music game or BMS in this round. (This song is from BMS)
I want to don't refuse my chance, but there are too many songs from BEMANI in this contest.

Wow, this song is...pretty monotonous... I'm gonna have to come up with something creative to make this one interesting.
(shrug) Bemani songs are prone to being really steppable. Although, to be fair, I think I myself have only submitted two songs from Bemani (Metric and With you...) and one got veto'd. Both were pretty much because I had no ideas. The rest have either been from Dancemania, other video games (none of them being music games), or songs I really wanna step myself. It's too bad about Seaside Heaven 3000 and MAIN STREET ELECTRICAL PARADE, I would've loved to see steps for those.

I don't feel like explaining the irony in who got my song this week.
Hint- it's not me.
So... VGM? Two birds with one stone, I guess.
Vote coming soon- I'm close to done playing them.

In my opinion, submitting nothing but rhythm game songs is a little boring. Every week so far I've cut my own song. I wish more people would do the same.

Yeah, the song I've submitted is from a video game... Just not from a music game one. It actually took me a while to figure out how to cut this specific song, I think I was originally gonna send it way back in 2014 before I settled on Crystal Sea instead because it was too difficult to cut.
I think whoever got it will be able to figure out if it's mine or not. :P

In my opinion, you are in the clear as long as you're submitting songs that, first of all, you want to be stepped by others, and as long as you don't submit a file that was already publicly stepped.Post #1156 · Posted at 2016-01-25 06:12:28pm 9.4 years ago

ALSO in my opinion, I think submitting from rhythm games should be okay if it's from a series that isn't from BEMANI and is lesser obvious for stepping (such as Vib Ribbon and Rhythm Heaven, heck, even PaRappa the Rapper, lol). The more unlikely combinations, the merrier. :P
I'd certainly love to see steps for PaRappa the Rapper songs someday. And I know I'd have a blast getting creative with the Rhythm Heaven songs, having some sort of gimmick similar to the actual song's playthrough... I'm sure other people could make something of those too.

[ROUND J], for Japan. What an awesome week of simfiles!
3pts- Call of the Wind. Great song, cool gimmicks, interesting patterns. My only issue was that the rhythms were pretty repetitive.
3pts- Captain Fantastic. My favorite eurobeat chart so far... if only the audio quality was better.
3pts- I Should Be So Lucky. This was like ONE MORE TIME... but waaaay better. You're really getting the hang of this now!
3pts- Slluuddggee. The classic brunobg boss song... with a DeltaMAX twist. Well done!
3pts- Cat Cafe. Seems like this took a lot of inspiration from Tamagotchi. It wasn't too difficult to learn the tricks on this.
I had a blast with every file this round. HMs to everyone else!
On hammer ska- So happy I caught my errors this time! Now let's see if my steps can keep
up with the rest of this well-stepped, very Japanese round.
@DDRDAIKENKAI- Sorry about that... I submitted Some Skunk Funk. In retrospect, your veto
was totally worth it for you. I guess I can step it on my own then, like That Person's Name Is.
Still not sure if I want to submit an original for [ROUND L], since I'm worried it would get vetoed.
Starting totals!
Call of the Wind [mf32892] - 3
Captain Fantastic [HealingDMax300] - 3
I Should Be So Lucky [Braeden47] - 3
Slluuddggee [brunobg24] - 3
Cat Cafe [Gameoson] - 3

@The Legendary DJXYZ Go right ahead. Just because your stuff repeatedly got veto'd in earlier rounds doesn't mean they will automatically be.

It was a cool song, I just personally wouldn't have been able to make much out of it, but that's just me.
