According to BMI, DDRX2 Betson is also discontinued.

Wonder what this actually means.
They probably ended their deal with them making the crappy machines and have no plans on making some more for future releases, something like that.

So we can confirm...

BAD GIRLS / JULIET ROBERTS
BOOM BOOM DOLLAR / KING KONG & D.JUNGLE GIRLS
BOYS / SMiLE.dk
DUB-I-DUB / ME&MY
EL RITMO TROPICAL / DIXIE'S GANG
GET UP'N MOVE / S&K
HAVE YOU NEVER BEEN MELLOW / OLIVIA PROJECT
HERO / PAPAYA
I believe in miracles / HI-RISE
IF YOU WERE HERE / JENNIFER
LOVE / SONIC DREAM
SMOKE / MR. ED JUMPS THE GUN
Stomp to my beat / JS16
Tubthumping / Chumbawumba

I'm not sure we can confirm EL RITMO TROPICAL, LOVE, or TUBTHUMPING just yet. Sure, they were in 2ndMIX, but keep in mind it was 2ndMIX LINK VERSION. Since the game is coming out alongside a re-release of the 2ndMIX OST, and those songs were not in the 2ndMIX OST, I wouldn't be so fast to confirm them.

"OMG KON!"
The real question is, can we really trust BMI gaming? I mean Betson is the official distributors of DDR in America...

Hopefully it just means that BMI is no longer selling Betson X2s.

Betson's website still shows X2 to be in stock.

Crappy or not there still isn't a single X2 machine known in Texas, which is just ridiculous.

According to BMI, DDRX2 Betson is also discontinued.

Wonder what this actually means.

Betson only made a run of 100 cabinets and based on the sales of those, they would have made more or stopped and they ended up stopping.

Where is your proof of this? I highly doubt they made even 100 cabinets... Maybe 50 at most.

i am just happy i can get my Mark Farina fix with Boom Boom Dollars...now i wont have to swap out my pcbs for 4th mix either to play the 2nd mix songs!!
and hopefully there will be an X4 vs 3rd mix so i can get more Mark Farina with Upside Down, and BBD KOG3 mix!!
anyone thinking i am a Saifam fannboy??

i just read some previous posts and had a few thoughts...

i know some arcades will not get the new cabs...pfft so what if an old cab has good pad condition and the arcade upgrades the older mixes i am fine with that. and most arcades will still make money from upgrading the mix, if the newer version is there people will play it

someone said that DDR became popular due to consoles not arcade hardware...true, but how many of the 2nd mix songs were on DDR konamix on PSX?? pretty much all of them, so that said i would think the old songs will work...maybe not all, i dont think i ever saw anyone actually play bad girls....

so in all i think it will work either way in the staes, i am not sure about how well it will work here in australia, x2 worked quite well to bring back the game, any version from supernova to DDRX didnt really do so well

50 seems like a small number, I mean I've seen at least 5 in Florida alone, and perhaps just a few of the distributors are being cut off from supplies in case of a sudden surge in sales. (HEH, likely)

I wonder if 1st Mix stuff will count too.

Since Konami is starting on 2ndMIX, and the original 2ndMIX soundtrack had all of the DDR songs in it I would like to assume that those are being included in this mode as well.

I don't think it means that Betson has stopped making them, I think it just means that BMI is fed up and has stopped carrying them.

Umm, Konamix was actually the license-less DDR game (hence the name KONAMIX lol), it was actually the first US PSX game the one with plenty of 2nd mix licenses, but not all of them (it had Boom Boom Dollar yet NO ButterflyEvil).

Anyone who tells you DDR became popular because of the CS versions is flat out lying, I think most people hate CS games because, frankly, the bundled softpad is a far cry from the real arcade experience. American CS games were pretty successful sales-wise, some of them even broke 1 million copies, I'm pretty sure that at least DDRMAX2 did.

Florida is an aberration. You've got 25% of all the Betson X2 cabs in the US. (and then there are 3 in Indonesia for some reason)

I do remember reading before that they only produced a limited run of X2 cabinets though.

BMI, Being a larger distributor and knowing this, posted it on their ordering page. You also have to remember that of the allotted 100, some of them made their way over into Europe.

It's VERY common for arcade manufactures to only produce a limited run of cabinets to see how sales go and if they take off, more will be in order. This practice happens all the time - I deal with it on a daily basis at work.

I can always hope that I win the lottery and buy an X2 cab for Oklahoma... But yeesh, I dunno, it seems like most arcades have stopped at SN2.

Trust me... Betson didn't make even 50 of those machines. There must be only about 25 in the United States at most and what like 5~10 in Europe? So let's say 35. DDR started selling quite poorly ever since the hardware changed to Python 2 and significantly sold even less when Betson decided against upgrade kits and to only manufacture dedicated cabinets. Its a VERY poor business decision on their behalf and the machines are most likely only manufactured at a rate where they will have 5 on hand at one time to cut losses if for some reason that cabinets don't sell.

The reason why I pointed out BMI gaming is because its NOT the distributor for the machines... Betson is. Betson has not stated ANYTHING about a release date and BMI has been known for being unreliable. For instance they apparently had an American version of Guitar Freaks & DrumMania XG for sale at one point, and maybe even XG2 and we all know for sure that those never saw an American release. Plus all the images on that website are probably just "googled" for to place on the website. I'm calling BS until I hear something from the official distributors. I would think it would come out at earliest Q3 of next year based on how long it takes Betson to come up with their pile of shit cabinet redesign and various other factors, so please, take a seat.

whoops sorry i got my titles mixed, i had burnt copies of both games so i wasnt sure.....

i strongly agree in regards to the arcade bing better than the cs versions...that said all australia got for their console were dancing stage mega mix...WOAH 28 songs.... and then we got DS festival...but it was only at select game stores that imported them to australia from the UK

on a side note...WTF why would boom boom dollars Red monster mix be on this release?? it was only ever put on dance freaks 2nd...argh...its an awful version of the song...the arcade better have the original version or im not playing....Laughing Out Loud Laughing Out Loud

The version of BOOM BOOM DOLLAR on DDR 2ndMIX -IS- (RED MONSTER MIX), it's just never been subtitled correctly.
