That gaffe reminded me of that commercial for a TV show based around following Sarah Palin and her family on some channel that I forgot.

All I could think of was, "please be killed by a moose/bear/salmon/bigfoot/anything on cable television." I can't stand her voice, thoughts, image, etc.

afaik eBay works like this:

Say you find something that's $20 and it says bid $25 or more for it. You bid $50 for it. The bid listing put down the lowest possible bid price for you (in this case $25), and in the event that someone puts another bid on, as long as they don't go past $50, you'll be fine.

At least that's how it looked like it worked. So tl;dr bid the maximum you are willing to pay for it.

Also, some people make alt accounts so they can control what their listing goes for.
