I really don't think commercial was trying to promote anything other than the DDR series as a whole, after all, the title says "Dance Dance Revolution Life Style Trailer".

I do like how the mats look stiffer in that commercial, hopefully that will actually be true. Great commercial too. I want to DDR with my future husband at my wedding, but we'll play on expert. XD
I love how they've apparantly been playing the same DDR Wii game for most of their adult lives, yet still play on Basic.

Oh, that commercial brought a tear to my eye. That was a really inspiring commercial.
Anyway, I kinda expected DDR 2010 there, but didn't expect to see them playing the same game again after each time skip.
And I also expected DDR II footage on the wedding, but nope, didn't show up.
Very good commercial, anyway.

I just love how they had a kid in no less than a minute.

Here you go Junior, step on the pad. Okay look, this song is called Dead End Groove Radar Special. Good luck!
If the video was meant to promote the series and not any one game then the generalized rating at the beginning makes more sense. It still doesn't account for the warning about online content though.

well I'm not going to get my hype up for DDR II having DLC, considering that the boxart doesn't even say DLC on it. So really I'm not going to get my hypes up for it, the only thing I can think that DDR II might get DLC is to compete with Just Dance 3.

I honestly think some people are reading a bit too much into this commercial

37 more days until DDR II comes out, and honestly that feels like a long time from now, hopefully the time will fly by with some new information.

Of the DDR games released on the Wii so far, which ones have DLC?

It makes sense within the context that it's an advert for "The DDR series as a whole" ^^;

My favorite part is that they are literally promoting freestyling in a mainstream way.
If this airs, I predict more YouTube videos of people "freestyling" while playing DDR just like the way the people "did it on teevee!"

We'd all like to see DLC on DDR II, but people should not get their hopes up based on this commercial because they will most likely end up disappointed.

I think people are already going to buy this since, even on paper, it looks 10 times better than DDR 2010.
It looks as if it's already won the hearts of a lot "hardcore, I HATE WII!!! RAEG!!!" players.

Though it's obviously an advertisement for the DDR series as a whole... on the Wii. Which puts more stock into the idea that Wii is the new home for the main console series.

With Konami's track record as of late, getting one's hopes up is believing that the game will even come out at all, much less contain what is advertised. Even so, I remain optimistic about this one. There's definitely something different about it.

Meh, they should seriously consider using actual DDR players and market it as the "rave party" style game of yore. The commercial shows the players obviously just screwing around, not even hitting the arrows.

In Japan, DDR is a game of skill. Everywhere else it's marketed as "fun", and you can just goof off on it with your friends at parties.

I would ask Aaron about the marketing of DDR in Japan. I'm pretty sure Konami as a whole holds "fun" at a higher esteem than the skill aspect.

Actually, one of the most annoying aspects of DDR commercials as of late is that many of them don't show DDR at all. I remember when X2/HP3 came out, I saw a commercial for them on TV.
The commercial essentially consisted of a bunch of people dancing around with a purple background behind them to "A Brighter Day". At the end of the episode it showed small boxart for both games and simply said "DanceDanceRevolution" at the top. No gameplay, no "featuring songs by...", no nothing.
