So Is MARVELOUS still just as hard to get as it was before?

The judgements are now inline with IIDX's now that they have removed ALMOSTs:

JUST GREAT -> MARVELOUS
GREAT -> PERFECT
GOOD -> GREAT
BAD -> GOOD
MISS -> MISS

"GOOD" on DDR X2 still not penalize life bar, right ? Confused

Does it mean that Marvelous in X2 = perfect in previous DDR?

So If I get a great attack on a song in SN2, that's like getting a Goods on X2?

No, it does not. They've just removed Almost and tidied up the lower grading, that's it. Al's only doing that comparison because it now kinda resembles IIDX's grading.

I don't think the value of each one has changed. People are looking too much into it I think
It doesn't appear as though any timing windows have changed, and if they had it would have surely been reported.

I VERY much welcome the removal of Almost. The only times that I've gotten an Almost in even remotely recent history are when I'm ghost-stepping on a song and one of those steps happens to be within the Almost window.

Yeah I'm also happy with the removal of almost, because the only almost I seem to get are on the DDR X cab and are pad-almost... They don't even give me a pad miss! Besides, what was the difference between boo and almost?

Well, before SN1, Almost was called "Boo" and Boo was called "Miss".
Now they took out "Almost" and changed Boo back to "Miss".

If you're comparing SN1 and beyond's Boo and Almost, "Boo" is a complete skipping of the step (outside the Almost window), while "Almost" means it was stepped within the Almost window.

Also, I have a question:
Has the timing window of "Good" expanded? As in, would an Almost on SN2 equal a Good or a Miss on X2?

I've never seen the use for that ranking whatsoever.

Just a couple things from the video

-System music is hard to hear, but seems to be different from X2 US.
-The groove radar is...actually like a radar now! It has a the "sweep" going around it. Watch the video and look at the groove radar, you'll see what I mean.
-CG Project is indeed by Latenighters, not Latenighter like Mess With My Emotions.
The groove radar belongs to "Solid Snake" Big Grin

The result screen, no more showing of N.G. o.o;

The album jacket on Result Screen look too small. Confused

Better Konami make it larger so we can see the image clearly.
Oh ya, noticed the "Miss" color? It reminds me of N.G. color on DDRX. Or maybe the "Miss" got merged with Freeze Arrow N.G as well? *Curious*

This. Puts a period on how N.G.s break your combo now. Looking at it that way it makes even more sense than how it's laid out on X.

It's mentioned on BEMANIwiki that NG and Miss are merged together.

Like I pointed out before, I think almost/boo or boo/miss had different life drain weights. The grade below Good took little health, a grade below that took away more health.

actually I don't think it makes sense. Missing a freeze and letting go of the freeze are different actions. If you let go of a freeze and it breaks combo and counts as a miss, it doesn't show that you got the step right. It almost seems like they're trying to make DDR even easier than before.

That change will be quite familiar to me, since HP3/Music Fit removed Almost and Boo as well and morphed them into Miss.

Yes it does. You get the grade you got on the step at the beginning of the freeze. You just can't double miss it; e.g. you step, get Great, let go, and you've overall acquired 1 Great and 1 Miss for that. Seems fair. MAX2 treated freezes differently too, except it actually counted two misses if you missed a single freeze.
