"DINGDONG♥HEARTS"
10 A Geisha's Dream
15 ZERO-2
20 What Will Come of Me
25 You have unlocked the arrow skin CYBER.
30 DYNAMITE RAVE

For the most part, it looks like it's the same order (thank god), just that he was off by 5. I'll still continue to go over it to make sure it's correct. And for those wanting to know, the default arrow skins are

S-CORE
FOOT
ANGEL FISH
PIXEL
BIRD
BEE
DIAMOND
Vic Viper
TULIP
MORNING GLORY
LOTUS
KNIGHT

Quote: T-14
So if I quit Endless mode, I will still unlock songs as i go through the next time too? I just want to make sure about this.

Yes

And so I took a deep breath and returned to DMM.

La libertad unlocked by clearing Baby-Lon's #4. Yes, I admit that I ignored him entirely.

And here are some spoilers regarding the map & characters:
Initial characters: Emi, Bonnie, Yuni, Rage, Zero, Baby-Lon

-You will need Lv 2 characters to break the roadblock between initial characters.

Level 4 characters: Alice (From Zero or Rage), Gus (From Baby-Lon or Jenny), Jenny (From Emi or Gus), Ruby (From Bonnie or Yuni)
Jenny didn't show up with her region; I unlocked her by clearing Julio's mission #1.
-You will need Lv 4 characters to reach these characters & their regions.
-These characters will show up with Lv 3 as their initial level.

Level 6 characters: Julio (From Gus or Jenny), Disco (From Ruby), Zukin (From Alice), ??? (From Alice)
Afro didn't show up with his region; I unlocked him by clearing another mission that I can't quite remember.
And BTW, I guess ??? is Concent, but I gave up on him, since the only entrance to his region is the un deux trois one. Aww.
-You will need Lv 6 characters to reach these characters & their regions.
-These characters will show up with Lv 5 as their initial level.

Finally, if you have a Lv 7 character, you can enter the EX region by breaking any Lv 7 roadblocks.
(There's a Lv 7 roadblock in every Lv 6-unlockable region.)
My advice is to raise the Lv 6 characters first, since they're required to unlock boss songs.

Anyone mind telling me where you find the option to play with the eyetoy?

If it's like SN's and X, just plug the EyeToy in before you load the system; it'll prompt you to enable it. "Hands and Feet" will appear with Single/Versus/Double mode, and "Watch Me Dance" will activate automatically (IE: selecting Single/Versus/Double). No Magical Ball, though!

Yeah, I was going through the tracklist and well... noticed a few things about it. Like, how practically 50% of the tracks are NAOKI-composed or collaborated; and how the pop songs sound like they've been re-cut and recharted for shorter lengths. I don't think KONAMI backed DDR 2009 at all! I betcha the mix was developed *entirely* at Naoki's expense! Hence the deliberate reaching to the French-Canadian and Mexican markets (revival song selections prove this!); and the minimal appearance of commissioned artists.

This may be a good year to pick up japanese SuperNOVA 2, DDR X, or EXTREME if you haven't already - or gift it to another DDR'ster. Otherwise, future versions will likely either get smaller, less frequent, both, or maybe non-existant... Neutral

Thanks for mentioning this as the instruction manual makes no mention of eyetoy support what-so-ever Oops

Right, I'm officially giving up on DICE MASTER MODE, as one mission has literally pissed me off.

LEVEL 6, un deux trois, BASIC, Get 115 MARVELOUS!! or more, x1.5, NO JUMP.

There are only 121 steps in that chart, and I'm supposed to get 6p with DDR's strict window? Ha, no.

The EyeToy modes.
Watch Me Dance: Play DDR, with the EyeToy so you can watch yourself. That's it.
Hands and Feet: Singles with two extra hand markers on each side.
Magical Ball: Generic Breakout-style thing that has nothing to do with DDR. But still.

It was probably developed with a $0 budget. I'm sure in other versions, Konami puts forth some investment capital into the development of the game, for licensing and commissioning artists and so forth; but this year, it probably came *entirely* from Naoki's pocket; Konami's just handling the distribution. It's like they're losing faith in the brand or something, or have other priorities to spend development budgets on.

For instance, featuring MSL (Tommy's Smile Mix) (NAOKI remix) and not Matsuri's or SIMH's (both commissioned remixes).

At least, that's how it looks to me. I could be wrong!

(Oni: I think THAT'S the part Pie's talking about.)

EDIT: And GR-Specials probably only look good now *because* the originals aren't sitting right next to them in the tracklist, save for the remade DYNAMITE RAVE. Finally, BOO! @ no "SMM-Specials." If DEAD END (GRS) and Pluto The First are worth porting, SP-TM and PARA-MAX (SMM-Specials) are more so.

Are you able to pick your own mods in DMM? That was the one bright spot for me in X's story mode.

What? You think NAOKI paid for the game? Boy, you must be dreaming and/or have no concept of business.

X2 probably did have a low budget, yes, simply because the PS2 is aging and Konami knows that PS2 games just won't sell anymore. Thus, they provided it with a smaller budget in order to maintain their profit margins for the game. My guess is that there was pressure from the higher-ups to keep the songlist at 60 to encourage players to get the PS3/360 version for the DLC.

HP3, on the other hand, quite clearly received a hefty budget. It looks clean, refined, and all around great. Not to mention the well-known licenses and brand new modes.

BTW, pretty sure nc is a commission. I think they're giving us a break from commissions for these games because last year was so crammed with them. I wouldn't be surprised to see some commissions on the next AC game though.

(Checks out tracklist...)

Ah, so that's where the rest of the songs are hiding! Sad I wonder why they didn't get ported, too? Think maybe they're being divided between X2 and "X3" later on? Or maybe you're right, and it's just incentive to system-hop; like Europe's PS1 Dancing Stage ports (Fever, Megamix, etc.)... either way, it sucks to see them clearly holding back like this.

(Oni: I think THAT'S the part Pie's talking about.)

I think X2 was a success but only due to these songs:

A Geisha's Dream (ok
AM-3P Chaos (ok
B4U Voltage (...ok
Brilliant 2U Stream (...ok..
D2R Freeze (...ok
Hysteria (ok
La Libertad (win
La Senorita Virtual (win
Love is Orange (ok
Mars Wars 3 (ok
Moonster (...ok
Sacred Oath (...ok
Ubertreffen (ok
un deux trois (ok
What Will Come of Me (ok
Dance Dance Revolution (song) (:/ ok
Kimono Princess (win
Dead End Special (ok
roppongi Evolved (win

I didn't mention any licenses. (I already stated why I didn't like them)
The groove radar specials felt more at home in X2.
They sucked in stepmania, but in X2, I kinda started to like them more than crap.
A Geisha by a margin made it to my list.
I didn't mention Shine or Zero or stuff like that because they just annoyed me in Endless.
PTF sounds too plain. End of story before discussion of Shock Arrows.
True Love Remix sounds bad and has a crap chart. True Love from SN1 for the win.
More ranting later Tongue

No love for Crazy Control? That's one of the best rap songs to come out of DDR in years.

I also think Love Again is one of NAOKI's best ballad tracks ever.

Songs that didn't make the cut...
Crazy Control.
Why?
Chart was excellent. Good shit.
Song wasn't as good.
I would add it to the cut but that would mean editing my last post no one would really view.
So between the reader reading this and I, I would personally add it because of the chart.

Love Again wasn't as win as other ballad tracks, but I would hate to discuss this for I personally don't like slow ballad like songs like this one or of its kind. So Love Again doesn't make the cut if I had to make a game because of many other reasons excluding boring chart and meh song.

Let the Beat Hit Em' sucked. Played it in Max and gave it a chance in X2...didn't like it then and don't like it now.
La Receta had a poor song and a chart that was packed with steps that didn't really...well...
Heatstroke had potential. TAG, I expected more...but I can't complain.
Gotta Dance felt more like a harder song. A 10? Come now...
Freeze and Malacca had the same problem: same problem. I liked it. Freeze would make the cut. Malacca would make the cut.
Chance and Dice...maybe if it had a better chart or something...
Blue Rain wasn't cool to see unlocked when I expected Kimono. Cool song yeah, but the chart... I would take it in, but the chart...
The licenses were boring. Just Dance is cool, but the thing was lazy.

These songs could have made it if either or had been improved.
Edit mode in DDR doesn't count.
