On a side note, I finished Dead Rising and beat Overtime Mode. Didn't get the Unbreakable Achievement because I didn't let the special forces gun Frank down and escape the chopper without them beating his face down. I might have been captured by the rain coat cults in the run.

And the Indoorsman and Outdoorsman Achievements are just dumb as hell to get.

Finally I do find out that my cousin has gotten over 30,000 Gamerscore points now. Last month, he had around 12,000. Huh?

Maybe (he/she)'s been playing games similar (in terms of difficulty, achievement-wise) to Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Burning Earth.

I myself am pushing 30,000, but at the rate I'm going, I'll get there by Christmas.

But he never got "Game Over, Man" in Aliens vs. Predator on 5/24/10 last time. This has to be a hacked account or something.

Agreed, and this is coming from someone who has both consoles. As for the price hike, I've no problem paying 10USD/year extra for a better service.

Maybe it glitched. Some games are known to do that. A friend of mine got 6 achievements (125 G) related to Horde mode in Gears of War 2, without even trying. Keep in mind the console wasn't connected to Xbox Live.

Realistically, it's just an extra 2.7 cents per day...

Modding gamerscore is so easy and surprisingly online safe I know how to do it, but personally I find it deletes the whole purpose of having achievements in the first place.


On a side note, I decided to do something fun today and visit a local arcade. I always get annoyed when I see an upgrade there and yet I still see that SuperNOVA machine (*wants SN2*)
Though this visit was a bit different. They actually took the ITG2 cabinet and threw in openITG with the ITG3 theme. They replaced the logo plate above too. My only issues with the cabinet is loading and saving times (they packed A LOT of songs into it), the left arrow on the P1 pad is becoming buggy and the fact the songlist looks a bit messy now (people have been loading in their custom songs and most are missing a banner and some even the artist information).
I decided to try out the custom songs feature and that was pretty cool. Spent about an hour switching mp3's to ogg's. I played some of the X2 simfiles too. Sakura Sunrise's Single chart is so fun I decided to try the incomplete Valkyrie dimension simfile and failed miserably
When I go back there I'm going to see if I can get some of my songs on there too. Maybe even try asking if they FINALLY upgrade the DDR machine.
Oh and it appears that I am actually tall enough now to use the bar more comfortably. It feels weird but it does help my stamina.

im actually glad im out. i know a bunch of other people that wish they werent signed up. the only benefit you get is you get to schedule class really early (i was scheduling as a freshman before my brother who was a senior). you have to take difficult classes and you dont get any reward for doing it. im being punished for wanting to learn anything and now my gpa is suffering. now i have to take lower level classes to recover my gpa. its the politics of education.

Are you guys sure it's hacked? Is this AvP achievement an isolated incident or are there entire games where achievements haven't unlocked right or have been done out of order? I know there are times when I've unlocked multiple achievements at the same time and they'd appear on my list out of order, and there have been cases where friends of mine have fulfilled certain objectives, but an achievement wouldn't unlock.

The best bet is to check for games that you know you're familiar with (not ones you THINK you MIGHT know) and see if there's numerous achievements obtained in an impossible order. A friend of mine has a good example of this on The Simpsons Game.



The achievement for starting the game, followed by the achievement for beating it. Considering there's an achievement for every single stage you beat, that essentially means he skipped fifteen necessary achievements. Very high probability of a hack.

Also, look for groupings of similar achievements. They tend to appear in conjunction with the "out of order" thing in the last example. Same friend, this example's on Crackdown.



The achievement for beating each gang's respective bosses, the one for beating all gangs, then the achievements for learning where you fight the bosses. I can't imagine how it would be feasible to kill one boss without the automatic intel prompt coming up, let alone every single one in the game.

Seriously, check your cousin's list of games. It's probably like Exor said: He's probably just playing piss-easy games for throwaway achievements. The first Avatar could be 1k'ed in literally two minutes, not to mention the Fantasy Football score trackers are pretty much free Gamerscore (Pause game: 35 achievement points HUR HUR).

I know I'm running my mouth, but it steams my broccoli when people just throw around hack and glitch accusations without proof, ever since some asshole messaged me relentlessly, saying my 1k'ing Soul Calibur in a week or two was bullshit. I don't get it very often, but it does happen, and it still pisses me off.

So I had a shaving accident earlier today. I have got to only shave when I'm facing a mirror and not when I'm at the millie.

The slightly embarrassing thing is, I didn't know that the cuts continued bleeding after I wiped them afterwards, and it was only in the classroom when my classmate asked me why my shirt had bloodstains on it. So I put my handkerchief and placed one end on my collar to cover up the stain. I swear I must've looked like someone who was about to eat, red napkin sans the silverware.

I managed to find an unused shirt in my bag (from a school activity that ended prematurely), and changed shirts after that subject.

There are two achievements that I didn't get on Quantum of Solace that I did in-game, for some reason. Hmm.

Funny...Death Smiles has a similar achievement, though only worth 5 gamerscore.

Seriously, anyone who 1k'd any of the DDR Universe games (especially 3) is likely hacking.

Personally, I don't mind if a game has only an achievement or two like that for small amounts of points (hell, I thought it was funny when I first saw it on The Simpsons Game), but when an entire "game" has half-assed achievements like "pause game", "enter options menu", and "log in on a Sunday, Monday, etc" with amounts up to 35 points for the entire achievement list, it's pretty freaking stupid.

Again, with hacking, I've noticed that people who've hacked the Universe games have their achievements in an impossible order, namely the "All Songs Cleared" achievement before getting any of the song unlocks. The timing window issue on UNI3 pretty much guarantees that all 1Ks are bull, though.

I just watched the movie "Primer". I think that movie may be even more complicated than Inception.

For one thing, they don't dumb down the conversations between characters involving engineering lingo at all, and theres so much time travel and talk of time paradoxs that you need a diagram.

Although I must say you've taken this topic down to a science. I knew there was some stupid achievements, but I never heard of some that stupid.
It could sound possible to reach that much gamerscore in that time period, but you need loads of time and achievement-generous games. I guess it all depends on how dedicated you are to raising your gamerscore.

While were on the topic of gamerscore, having an achievement for pressing the start button could actually have a purpose. Once you try out this game, you cannot delete it from your 'games played' list. If you hate the game, you're stuck with a game in your list with minimal gamerscore.
OOOORRRR they just developed the game for an audience of morons.
