It's scared off quite a few people (myself included the first account I had here) and makes people with 200+ ratings LOOK like they are really good contributors, which is true for the most part, but some of them (yes, I know a few examples) are asses to the newer or innocently confused users. To be honest, I'm not even sure why this system was implemented in the first place, and I'm not the only one who thinks this
You're right. You're not. The thing is, though, I've said "remove the rating system" a million times, YOU'VE said "remove the rating system" a million times, your dog has probably said "remove the rating system" a million times, and we should all accept that it ISN'T GOING TO HAPPEN.

The only one who can really do anything about removing the ratings is Alan and I think he's far busy living life to worry about someone getting pissy about arbitrary numbers on a screen.

Is there any way to know who rated YOU and the rating they gave you? If there is one and I'm not aware of it, could you please inform me about it? And if there isn't one, I wish there was. I'm just curious.

There is one but it's only in place for staff so we can remove malicious "I don't like your name -5" ratings.

Did I just receive two -5s for simply stating my opinion? I know my choice of words can be questionable sometimes, and my opinions probably should've been labeled as such, but still . . .

If a user is inactive for over three months, their user ratings are not factored until they log back in. That's probably what you're experiencing.

All the ratings you've given? You can always just go through them and zero them out but AFAIK there is no faster way
