people in this thread have stated they wanted changes or more prominence to aesthetics, i think they'd care

Considering how humans are and the fact that they are NOT likely to give a shit about Rage doing in-place cartwheels when the person is focusing on stepping on the arrow in time with the music, I promise they'll stop caring after the novelty is gone.
That all being said, the change to the song select screen is welcome but that didn't need a new engine.
Long story short, whatever goals you have with the game, I doubt is looking at Emi shake her ass while doing the spins in that Mare Mare song.

Reviving MAX/MAX2 licenses. Flash in the Night and Follow Me would finally get proper foot ratings.

i'm seeing people speculating the next game will be the 20th anniversary, but i find that unlikely, because DDR's birthday is in September, 11 months from now. We'd have to wait nearly a year for a new game, unless Konami decides to release it earlier than that because they forgot or don't care.
As for wishlists, I'd like to see THE EARTH LIGHT come back.
More beatnation artists working on DDR would be nice too.

A complete genre overhaul. No more U1/Tag/Sota style music. EDM/dubstep is not fun dancing music. That's been my biggest issue with DDR A.
- Dancemania revivals. Dancemania and DDR are like bread and butter.
- Reflec Beat, Jubeat, Nostalgia, and Pop'n Music crossovers. Those games have a lot more genre variation, unlike IIDX, Múseca, and SDVX.
- More songs by Oster Project, Dormir, and Qrispy Joybox.
- Hi-speed happy hardcore a la kors k. Anything with a really bouncy beat.

I think it would be cool to see the return of more experimental electronic music, like what you would see in older DDR/IIDX mixes.

"This hat hurts" |
-More DanceMania Revivals (I Believe In Miracles, Bye Bye Baby Balloon, NIGHT IN MOTION)
-The return of good-cool (Spin The Disc, I Was The One, Last Message)
-More Diversity in artists (Oster PROJECT, lapix, MORRIGAN, S-C-U, HuΣeR)
-More 15s and 14s. I want more stuff in the middle difficulty
-Less Crossovers in Step Charts. They aren't fun at 180BPM. :c
-A better fucking UI system
-Bring back old KO's (Matsuri Japan, MIDNIGHT BLAZE, Groove, ON THE JAZZ)
-Less EDM
-SUPER EUROBEAT Crossover Event (Manuel, Mega NRG Man, Dave Rodgers, Go 2)
-More tracks using the split BPM on difficulty system
-A prettier way of showing the difficulty of the song you are playing
-A fixed sync on Trim and NGO
-More funky songs
-An original song for DDR by TOMOSUKE (no Dormir, Zektbach, Orange Lounge, or other alias BS)
-Ultramix Exclusives crossed over (Insaner, 250bpm Jondi&Spesh remix, GO! Mahalo Mix)

· Return of EDIT DATA and the Online Step Editor.
· More Western licenses.
· More CS songs, especially from the Ultramix and Universe games.
· A CS version. I don't care if it's only on eAMUSEMENT CLOUD.
· And with that CS version, I want some songs that are specifically for the CS version.
· New outfits for all the characters, especially those who did not get one in DDR A.
· Return of the CONCENTS and ZUKINS.
· Older BEMANI crossovers.
· New songs from DJ YOSHITAKA (not VENUS), SYUNN, S-C-U, good-cool, DJ TOTTO, L.E.D. (not L.E.D.-G), Hommarju, TOMOSUKE, and Sota Fujimori under the SySF alias.
· Music contests, similar to the likes of SOUND VOLTEX FLOOR.
· A Western release with song titles/artists translated into English.
· A new sound director, preferrably someone who's never sound directed a DDR game before. How about Mutsuhiko Izumi?
· Debut songs from 742, m@sumi, Mr. T, OSTER Project, and Butapunch.
· Revivals of songs removed from X, such as MATSURI JAPAN, MOBO⭐MOGA, MONDO STREET, R3 (I doubt that one's gonna happen, but I can dream.), Midnite Blaze, and BAILA! BAILA!
· Return of 6PANEL mode.

I only have 2 requests.
1. Bring back Konami originals that were removed in DDR X. (Look To Sky, Do It Right, On The Jazz, etc.)
2. Remove Announcers and Crowd noise, or at least let us have the option to turn them off.
EDIT: Oh I almost forgot, I want to see Kind Lady return.
That is all.

iirc most of the KOs removed in X are because the same reasons why Dynamite Rave's old version got replaced by a new version. The thing is, unlike Dynamite Rave, they were never really that iconic as Dynamite, so their revivals are unlikely. Including Kind Lady.
(also Sky is the Limit is a replacement for LTTS)
but this is a wishlist after all so
i'd like to see more 80s/90s inspired music. hearing italo disco and stuff like Children, No Limit, etc inspired-KOs would be a joy. Licenses could work too (though not nessacarily Dancemania stuff (ik there's alot of that stuff in Dancemania))

My Top 10 requests for the next DDR version:
1. Make an option to disable BGA and change BGE.
2. Make an option to select life gauge from Default to Battery as well as battery life numbers from 1-8.
3. It could be better not to remove some decent songs from KOs like what they did to Kind Lady.
4. Revival of old level 9 songs like So Deep, RHYTHM AND POLICE, MATSURI JAPAN, END OF THE CENTURY etc.
5. Please put some decimal places and increments of the song levels to make more accurate.
6. Please create another modified settings page for more complicated game options such as Hidden, Sudden, Wave, Break etc. These options should not be mixed on the basic modifiers that we used more often such as speed and screen filters.
7. Create more drill courses for expert players.
8. Revive the Non-stop Mega mixes and create new for the present J-Pop songs.
9. More crossovers of music from GITADORA.
10. A new level 20 song.

I'd personally like to see an actual European release...
I'd mainly like it to not require e-amusement because that's what is driving away most UK arcades from DDR A due to pricing.

A good 19 and better 18s
I'd actually enjoy some shit styled like Rebirth/Rebirth 2, while current DDR charts are miles ahead of the bullshit that came out between 2007-2012 there's still a lot of bad stuff (I'd kill for more charts like Illegal Function Call without the doublestepping)
EDIT: The one thing that Endymion Challenge actually got me optimistic for is better footswitches
