You jumped into a thread that had nothing to do with you to cry about what is and isn't allowed here where piracy is concerned. Obviously this shows that you are having internal issues - nothing to do with us.
Jumped into a thread that had nothing to do with you? Sort of what you're doing now. 🙄
How does this situation have anything to do with you?

Also you need to make up your mind if people should stay out when no one is talking to them or if it’s a public forum and anyone can reply.

Never said you couldn't reply, but confused what you have to do with 987123879113. And you're copy and pasting my reply, changing a few words, as a "gotcha moment," when it's really not.
Listen, I said I had time...

So um... how's MAME emulation for BEMANI games? Do 60fps DDR games still have that weird stutter with the arrows? Is sync more consistent on those builds that let you change the sound offset?

Drama aside. MAME emulation is pretty ok so far. Unfortunately, I can't use any other version of MAME later than 0.240 as the dumps I have do not support it. (i get the incorrect length error) But so far its pretty decent. Unless you have insufficient computing power, you might likely encounter the stuttering? i'm not entirely sure to be honest. As for syncing, its pretty much on point once you add the audio offset setting in the mame.ini file. As I started getting AA's consistently after adding the setting.

In my case the game speed itself doesn't lag, music and gameplay is fullspeed, the only thing is in games like DDRMAX, MAX2 or EXTREME, which run at 60fps, where arrows don't scroll smoothly and seem to scroll at a lower frame rate, so more like 30/40 fps. The song wheel definitely runs at a smooth 60fps, so maybe it could be the resolution change from 480i to 240p that occurs when gameplay begins? Maybe the frame pacing is just not as good on 240p for these games. I've tried having Vsync on and off, triple buffering, playing around with the refresh rate sync options, but I can never manage a smooth scrolling for the arrows.
I am using a specialized MAME 0.212 build i found that has the offset settings in the Tab menu when you start a game, and you have to change that offset every time you play because it doesn't save. The folder came with the name "MameFinalFull". Is there a newer build? Do official MAME builds now have the offset setting in the mame.ini file? Or is it also a specialized version/fork? Because if so then I'd like that build to try it out

LordBBH has played many Bemani games using MAME either on dedicated streams or during his MAME Roulette series and to be honest they look like they work pretty well. Of course, these do tend to stop around the end of the 573 era, so early 2000s at best.

I think I figured out the stuttering, and it's basically a frame-pacing issue. System 573 DDR games display at a refresh rate of 59.817, so I tried changing my monitor's refresh rate to 59.94hz (with vsync on) and I was glad to see the arrows finally scrolled smoothly! If I use 60hz, 120hz or any other refresh rate then the arrows stutter while scrolling. So I guess to maintain accuracy MAME doesn't do anything for frame-pacing.
I'm curious if using a multiple of 59.817 would result in smooth scrolling + lower latency for 120hz and higher monitors, but CRU (Custom Resolution Utility) wouldn't add the refresh rates I tried. Either way it's very smooth at 59.94hz.
In summary, for System 573 DDR games on MAME your refresh rate has to be as close to (but not below) 59.817 as possible for the arrows to scroll smoothly and without stuttering. I also turn on v-sync since it also stutters if vsync is turned off. I hope this helps anyone else that had the issue!

A picture of me is whatever, considering I have a youtube channel and I've posted videos and pictures of myself here. I have no idea how he had information about my family, I only have an instagram and I don't really post about them.Post #99 · Posted at 2022-08-28 04:11:57pm 1.7 years ago

The person that made the bemani mame branch also did a branch for python 2 using pcsx2 so add sn1-2 and gfdmv1-3 plus the simple drum and dance games made for it to round up we have working All of 5key IIDX1st-8th popn1-8+mickey+anime1-2+stageex DDR1.5-SN2 plus all known spinoffs GFDM1-V3 all of PPP and KBM and DMX and mobo a go go
