This post will appear on the next page!
My chart should be coming in a day or two - main purpose of this post was to put in a word of support for Oni's scoring system - maybe we could have the scores from this run into the system that was proposed just to test it/seed people with starting scores that aren't all 1000. At the least if there are some kinks we could work them out before too long, and have something running between contests.
If there is one thing I'd say about it though, I like not having to participate every week, so the "challenge" system really appeals to me.

Personally I would just give bonus score basing on finishing round in ToI.
Q - no bonus
got into top 16 - +100
got into top 8 - +100
got into top 4 - +100

The problem with a system like that is a win is treated exactly the same regardless of who it's against, whether it's a curbstomp or a shock win. My system makes the obvious wins worth a lot less and shocks worth a lot more, so there's always something to play for, furthermore, if you're a new starter, you start on a flat 1,000, which means you're not completely out of it if you start a year later than everyone else.

Okay. After these two rounds are up, the ladder can be started with the rankings from this TOI 6 spinoff, but then Missed Connections is going to become its own thing with a brand new category AND an Elo-style ladder. Sounds good.

My idea is to make this an ongoing thing, not used to determine tournament seeding but just a constantly updating table so there's a nice bit of competition going on outside the tournaments too.
This actually sounds really interesting. I'm not sure how well it'll work in practice, but it seems like it might be a cool thing to implement.

My primary worry is that interest would drop off and later matches would have a tough time garnering any votes, but otherwise, I really like this idea

It's Wednesday, my dudes. There are no simfiles posted yet.
One simfile coming up

refractive index / Sota Fujimori

*or something like that
This was originally intended to be my round 3 entry for ToI6. Then I got eliminated.

Thanks, Oni, for the song suggestion. This file turned out a lot better than I originally expected (although whether or not it lives up to your expectations, I don't know).

Originally from Dancemania 5, this track was later reissued in Dancemania DELUX 2, from which comes the CD Title that displays on this song. I decided to style this simfile as a DDR 5th Mix license, which means no freeze arrows, gimmicks, strange quantizations, or very hard charts, but it also means no jacket, no lyrics file, and no beginner chart, as well as a banner which is taken from the unaltered background. Hopefully, the background looks decent enough and not too unfitting, but in case it gives you linen sickness or something of the sort, I promise to have a custom zip with alternative graphics before the week ends. Perhaps I'll also add back into it some of the niceties which I purposely left out of the simfile...

I really chose this for convenience- my original choice for Round 1 before Ocean Avenue was selected. I wanted to be really ironic and submit Some Skunk Funk because of my matchup, but the file just wasn't cutting it.
Death By Glamour (KAZOO'd) has no gimmicks, but the song is repetitive at points, so rhythms are often repeated with non-mirrored step patterns to throw the player off guard. Also, watch out for the 24ths in the chorus.

CUSTOM ZIP has the Music Video
This was going to be my ROUND 2 file, but like Gameoson, I was eliminated before that could happen. Actually, if I had been able to finish it earlier, I probably would've submitted this to ROUND 1.
I hope you enjoy the song and the charts!

This was supposed to be my entry for round two, but I got no votes. LULz anyways this chart is pretty fun imo.
Anyways, the heavy chart has a very fun run of 16th crossover streams, but the chart was made to be simple. The standard chart and light chart was also made to be simple, but to also teach the player about trills and crossover streams with 4th or 8th notes to get them ready for the next difficulty higher.
Also, Cytus is BAE!

So like I feared, song choice was pretty hard for this since it was speedcore only, and honestly, the songs I'd put in a speedcore pack don't make for balanced charts. So this abomination was born after about 4 other songs that I didn't really like, and honestly I think song choice took almost as long as chart making. Please do not challenge me to another speedcore battle haha, one is enough for a long time.
This thing plays like a hybrid between a DDR boss song and an easier speedcore chart; ratings (below) are in ITG scale. BPM fluctuates between 175 and 350, you should be prepared for both but the changes are fairly forgiving.
Also my graphics have never been good, sorry.

For those of you who were around, during the good ol' days of FlightMix, you'll probably remember the very first simfile this song ever got (and probably how difficult it was compared to most files in that songpack series). As far as FlightMix files went, this one was probably the closest thing the series ever got to emulating material from the ITG-oriented SPEEEDCOOOORE songpack series. Given the

I hear on the wires that Spork is ballsdeep in a 65-hour work week so has not really got the time this week. I will be willing to set our matchup for week 2 for him, truth be told I haven't started on my file either.

At first I thought the simfile gods at last gave me a break with me not having to take on Mokou in this year's TOI, however things are never that east and here we go again. I'm pretty sure that we are destined to fight forever. I had this file planed just in case of the event I would have to take on Mokou again. I wanted to do another マクロスMACROSS 82-99 after what happened with Asuka Bad Girl in last year's SC (or was it TOI, I don't remember). Anyway here's the next fight in the Pandy VS Mokou saga, and I'm sure it won't be the last.

Played with the scrolling factor and "Edit Speed" for the first time. They're pretty cool gimmicks. I think I'm going to use them more often.
