beatmania IIDX 14 GOLD (PS2) (Japan)

Well, I live in Philadelphia which is practically a Bemani desert (and Acrade barren) so there is probably an exorbitant amount of IIDX controllers lying around (Along with some dusty Ignition pads. ). I should get the first (and probably only) IIDX game for the PS2 while it's still sitting there.

Would American IIDX controllers work with japanese IIDX games?

Of course! That's what I use, and it's pretty durable considering how cheap it is compared to the JP controllers. Some people prefer to mod it a little, but I like mine as is.

Great! Just 3 business weeks until the release of beatmaniaIIDX® 14 GOLD CS! I can remember looking at that 80 day mark on the release timer, lol time surely passes. I'm guessing that once all of the golden bars fill up, the release will happen. =D

As for the New Songs, they all seem to have potential, but probably won't be better than previous CS-exclusive releases titles.

I think GOLD will be like 9th style...a style in which there are hit and miss songs that will eventually grown onto you.

The song was there when the site was put up, its just the bg video that we haven't seen yet. Unless you're not talking about the official site? Also, sounding like a SOTA song isnt a bad thing

I don't mean it like that. Look To The Sky (True Color Mix) I think is the best DDR song ever. What I meant was It's done by dj TAKA and dj Remo-con. I was expecting PollinosiS with a piano kind of song.

So I purchased a pre-order for this game on Play-Asia, and (finally) nabbed an IIDX controller, good condition, off Ebay for $51.50 and I'm getting anxious waiting for this game's debut now.

The songlist difficulties don't look very beginner-friendly... I hope I can adapt to this game.

There's always Beginner Mode Some of my friends had to use that to start, and it worked like a charm. Since the US version didn't have a specified Beginner Mode, they had a beginner difficulty listed in regular play.

I remember hearing that Beginner mode had song previews like DDR.
Was that true? And d'ya think it would be true for the CS version?

There was only one song from DDR that was in IIDX GOLD BEGINNER MODE at first, it was HONEY PUNCH, but that was unlocked later and was actually a full IIDX song. The other initially BEGINNER ONLY song was High School Love from pop'n music but was also unlocked later.

I heard that Beginner Mode was made so that you heard a preview of the song you highlighted, similar to how DDR has song previews in the sogn select screen

Also, that poster was predictable, but the stickers seem nice! I'm not sure if I'm going to use them though, lol

Ah yeah, like DDR, GF&DM and pop'n music, you hear song previews when the cursor is over the song. If it had that in the AC release then I can 100% say that will be true in the CS version too.

But is that only in beginner mode?

Yeah, only in BEGINNERS MODE.

The only inaccuracy is that in AC BEGINNERS MODE, you need to only fill 60% of the GROOVE GAUGE to pass. In CS, it's still stuck as 80%.

T-T So sad the preview music is just for beginners mode only.

I can't wait it... also, the result screen (especially for CS exclusive pic)... [ugh.. i had found it on some web but not good quality ] but I can't buy it

Does anyone know who that guy in the front could be? The guy at the back looks like kors k or Yoshitaka to me.
And going with a specualtion on bemanistyle, that person next to him looks like Jun.
