Not sure if you noticed, but Konami's recently expanded their Bemani lineup to include more games than just DDR.

I just... what? Dance Wars dies after their mascot character's event and... yet... this... thing... can... be released on the same platform? Without Dance Wars coming back? Like... this is somehow... more... worth... selling? What...?

Well, I'm done posting here for the day. I was hoping we'd get off the rage bandwagon by now and move more into deep discussion/debate, but I suppose we're a little...stuck on the moment here. =/

Sad to say I never did get to experience Dance Wars...By the time I saved enough money for my iPod Touch 5g the servers shut down and I moved on to Reflec Beat+, and reviving DDR S+ with whatever song packs I bought when I played it on my 2nd gen. By the time I heard news of this when I got home from a good long day of work, I was ecstatic that a new DDR app was developed, sure it was no DDR console release but if it had the songs from DDR 2013 it would make me happy.....What did I get when I checked it out on iTunes?

I think they should stop trying to remake DDR. It doesn't even work this way. This isn't even a game to be honest, as the only motive you'd even have for playing this game is to lose weight. Even then, that motive can be accomplished by EVERY DDR GAME YOU PLAY WITH A PAD.

This isn't even worthy of calling a game, seeing as there's no scoring system. At all. Even with the weight loss motive, it's still redundant, considering this game's goal has already been accomplished. In fact, there's no actual reason for this so-called game to exist. It's goals have been accomplished with almost every other release in the series, and it's more of an activity than an actual game.
Konami needs to just stick with Reflec Beat, and Jubeat in the smartphone app department. DDR doesn't do well as a smartphone app, and is better suited as a pad game.BTW Why do all the iOS users get Jubeat and RB, there's a lot of potential in Android too, WHAT THE FUCK KONAMI?!

TL;DR: Just stick to keeping DDR as one thing, Konami. If you did this, I'm pretty sure you guys wouldn't be berated as often.

You do know there is Jubeat Plus for Android right? But only for Japan of course, and only for Sony Xperia and Amazon Kindle Fire HD models. So much for universal compatibility.

I agree with with you on this one, mainly because by introducing an iOS version of DDR, KONAMI has pretty much done something very pointless. I'm pretty sure StepMania/TapMania would probably be a much better option to opt out for (even though TapMania does tend to be glitchy at times).

Sometimes, I feel as if KONAMI should just make one final DDR arcade version, like some sort of grand finale (if KONAMI so wanted to make a final one), possibly including just about every DDR song ever seen in it's respective arcade mix from 1st-X3, rather than just including certain songs from each of the older mixes whenever a newer version is released. And maybe then, KNOAMI could finally justify releasing MAX Period. Sure, it may just be ONE song, but I'm pretty sure that ONE song is a boss song and a more iconic one at that. Therefore, people would be more likely to pay attention to it and probably want to play it. I mean, it's quite unfair to me that MAX. ended up being so exclusive the way it did...what's so bad about releasing it elsewhere? Now, I'm fully aware of the problem that arose at the time of it's initial release. But come on, a decade has passed since that happened, so I'm pretty sure we'd know better by now, right?

Originally, I had high hopes for DDR 2013 being that one DDR game where KONAMI finally decides to make it in the way I proposed above, when I heard about DDR 2013 for the first time from a friend. But after seeing the songlist on Wikipedia (and recalling how KONAMI has always been only picking certain songs from older mixes -rather than most of the songs from the older mixes- when developing newer arcade versions), I've pretty much lost all hope for KONAMI (as if that hasn't already happened ever since I first heard of the KONAMI VS ROXOR lawsuit). They'll never learn...

What the hell is wrong with you? DDR 2013 is now a very solid release.

I've pretty much stop caring about any future releases here since it's pretty easy to set up stepmania with AC simfiles and use a 360 pad with it. DDR 2013 is a really good game (Probably one of the best mixes really), the only problem is it's only available in Asia.
