The moment Daiz started my internet connection managed to magically fix itself. Let it be known that Daiz is some kind of wizard and should be burnt at the stake.

Oh yeah, congrats on beating the record. Well, not just beating, but utterly murdering it. I don't think anyone's going to be taking on that for a while!

Thanks everyone for your support! I had a good time and it felt good to finally leave the arcade after 40 hours. I'm feeling pretty good today. I'm glad a good chunk of the community was pushing me on this, it really felt like I was doing this record for you guys, bringing the record to the global DDR community. But especially a HUGE thanks to everyone in the local community where I live. Everyone pulled together and made this happen and it should meet all of Guinness's requirements.

If that record doesn't make it in, Guinness can kiss my ass.

Not the beer though.

Since I forgot values and don't want to look, plus possible minor alterations, how much are you donating?

It was supposed to be $1 per game, unfortunately I lost count by hour 4 and book keeping for the machine was off. So I will review some of the video to get an average per hour # of games I played and multiply that by 40 and use that number.

So I received a rejection from Guinness with the following claim:

"The video evidence you have submitted shows sections of up to 60 seconds without human input. As such, it is with regret that we must reject your attempt on this occasion. "

I've asked for clarification of what portions he is referring to. We'll see if they're even open to an appeal.

"OMG KON!"
Wow that's pretty stupid. Maybe they meant that you took too long to choose a song after going through the menu. This is something I fear for when/If I ever attempt to do this. Hope the appeal goes through and they tell/show you when.

The rules specifically state that any user input must be completed within 20 seconds. I took this to mean user input per-screen. There is no way to get from title screen to selecting a song in 20 seconds.

It's already been decided that if this is ultimately rejected, I am reattempting this, with a friend, and raising the cash to get a judge to witness this. I'm holding this record, period.

What dicks... You hold the record as far as I'm concerned. It's not a matter of a technicality either, no one has even come CLOSE to your marathon.

I'm up for signing a petition to reverse their denial. Anyone else?

A petition most likely won't do squat. However, is Guinness under the rule assumption the machine will be set to event mode (like with DDR Extreme and the older mixes) so that the game never ends; you are just shot back to the song selection screen after each song?

However, you might also want to contact TwinGalaxies ( http://www.twingalaxies.com/ ) since they administer a number of "world records" lists and achievements of their own. I don't think they are *quite* as strict and if you have video evidence of your attempt anyways, it might be worth a shot.

The thing is, their claim is absolutely false and incorrect, that's what bothers me. It's not a matter of judgement, they claim I spent up to 60 seconds without user input during the attempt and that _never_ happened outside of a rest break.
