OTL, just got back from vacation and found out about this. Good s*** Daiz! Korea still doesn't have any DDR machines though lol.
EDIT: Btw, your requirements say .NET Framework 3.5, but I have that and the program says I need 4.0.30319. Just sayin'.

Ah, I will make sure to release the next version as 3.5.
The name of the .dat file determines the name of the edit. Example: ThreeWay.DAT will cause the edit's name to show up as ThreeWay. The commnet1 and 2 cannot be customized outside of the predefined choices.
As for detecting what can and cannot be done, I don't think I will program checks for these in as it would take a significant amount of logic to catch.
Edit: I do plan to make this open source so those things I don't implement, someone else can

I think the only needed features to get this to final is, a check to fix bugged arrows and the comment box. I posted every known comment and ID a few posts back.

Do I have to do anything specific to the SM files so that they will work in the converter? Can you post up an example of a SM file that has successfully worked through the converter?

Hi! lot of thanks for this app, I was waiting for it along time! But I have a question about the measures...
I use the simfiles from zenius-i-vanisher...but I not have idea how to set the measure to match with the arcade measure...any help?
It would be great if someone make a list like:
Measure for DDr extreme songs: X
Measure for DDR X song: X...
Of course using as base zenius i venisher simfiles.
Thanks a lot =)

The file that's used to get all the song id's has another column for the offset. As I find songs that need an offset, I will update that file and distribute it to everyone. I'm noticing that songs aren't as perfect as arcade as I was lead to believe (half of my edits were a measure early or late and all sims came from ZIV). So if anyone experiences any edits being off by a measure or so, let me know the song and the number of measures its off (early or late). Also, I noticed that all of my edits were cut off by a measure or two, fpt.

Yesterday, I tried a few edits and I can saw a thing; if the first step of your edit starts before the first step of the arcade the song, it will be delayed. However, if you respect the first of the arcade song, you song will be good (that was my sensation at least xD)

I finally tried it again. With 3 songs, Decade, Pierce The Sky and YELLOW CANDY.
Decade was really fine. Perfect.
Pierce The Sky was fine until the last part. It became horribly long-freeze riddled that freezes overlap each other (it's not supposed to be there).
YELLOW CANDY was fine, but the last three steps or so was missing.
Next week I'll try to get a video.

There is a bug that I'm fixing right now where the very last measure of the simfile isn't read, so it's not included in the edit (all of my edits had their last measure missing). It also seems like my measure offset feature isn't working. I'll hopefully have a fix out today.

Ha, so that's why. I used measure offset on BALLAD THE FEATHERS. It's still off. The others I did manually.
Decade appears normal because last freeze was empty. YELLOW CANDY got cut due to that.
Still, that doesn't solve Pierce The Sky's weird problem.
Also, is this possibly caused by the "ignore first measure of the file" implementation? Because I see that isn't working.
Wish I could help, but I have never touched C# (have only tried Pascal, VB)
If you can show me the code maybe I could help, I dunno though.
APPEND: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/40407085/SongList.txt
shows the data for songs from X and before (incl. CS ones) to get number of measures, divide TICKS by 16. This includes the first measure.

Thanks Silver, but that list doesn't really help with anything. Measure counts isn't the problem as the game will read however many measures you put into the data. I got the problem fixed so far. Now it's a matter of fixing the offsets for individual songs. There's no way to do this other than trial and error, unfortunately.
The first page now has a list of songs with known offsets needed. I will keep this running list and update the program as time goes.
Edit: A new version has been released with a few tweaks. Bug fixes include reading the last measure of the edit, when it wasn't before, the offsets weren't actually be honored. Also, the offsets are a bit more logical. For example: If your edit is 1 measure later than the music, the offset should be a negative value (move your edit data backwards). If it's earlier than the music, use a positive offset (move your edit data forwards).
Another tweak is your open dialog remembers where the last place you opened a file from, same with where you save your edits.
