Also, everytime i found THE song that i want to edit... it's not on the online editor >.<
It's also sad that we can't use 2 different edits at the same time... we could do couple/unizon chart this way (there is a bunch of video with japanease players doing this).

It seems to me that you can make couple edits... Well, in CS games there are SINGLE, COUPLE or DOUBLE...

It's an asian cabinet. I can see the "online" in katakana on the bottom of the screen. They probably did the ddrmax thingy => DDRX thing.
This, you can edit every song if i remembers well (i tried it several month ago, even if it's useless for me).Post #82 · Posted at 2011-05-11 08:56:01pm 14.1 years ago

Use Doubles (although I don't think the editor allows triple or quad jumps (ie, 3+ steps at once))

That's what i was trying to do. Almost finished a couple test chart.
And making something fun that allows only 2 steps at the same time isn't easy.
PS : Well i guess i won't test this soon. Almost didn't play the last 2 months and i guess i'll not play much soon (i'm a bit pissed to travel to the same place again and again to play on a ddrx(eu) cab sometimes broken.). So i rather go somewhere else sometimes (like Paris) see other people and play some itg (even if i play less).

I find that a bit weird considering Into Your Heart isn't on any JP PS2 version.
You can make edit steps for any song on Japanese/Asian DDRX / DDRX2 using DDREditMax2. I made a bunch of X2 edits (coming shortly) using it, as well as for stuff like being able to make a DoLL edit without owning STR!KE. I've also seen people use it to make edits for Universe stuff like DeltaMAX. The latest beta supports direct import/export to/from an SM file so it's pretty handy.
You can also put hands in your steps with it, as well as triples (quads don't seem to work). There's still no way to do 24ths or shock arrows that I know of.

That I didn't know. Triples work on that. I want to know how to do the conversions from the DDREditMax2 > card > PS2. Knowing fully that I don't have that ps2 card rewrite usb thing.
But couples when edited when you chose the edit it's already like that. What ever you put on one side its there already. I've made a couples chart that was stupid cuz I was bored and went to the arcade to look stupid. My friends were like, "wow... too much time on your hands." You'll have the data with 2 different gauge readings usually (unless you make the chart with same amount of "type" arrows/jumps/freezes.)
Unfortunately I haven't seen a couples step chart since I think DDR 1.5 !!USA!! side. But I think I'm confusing myself by playing it on 3rd mix CS. (red yellow blue) arrows on a centered chart. Mind you it will always be on x1 speed lol.
APPEND : Actually now I'm curious is there a conversion from that kinda file to English? I only know that you can make it for Asian and Japanese cabs.

If there is I don't know how to do it.
DDREditMax2 will output an edit in PS1 card format, you then need to use a DexDrive or whatever other means you have at your disposal to get it onto a PS1 card, then you copy it from there onto a PS2 card using the PS2 memcard browser, then you can load the edit up in DDR X's Outside Manager and import it into your library like any other. It's a bit of a roundabout approach but I've started using it even for songs in games I have just because writing them in Stepmania is so much easier.
By the way, I've now added the following songs to my edit pack:
Title (ITG/DDR)
more more more (9/13)
only my railgun (9/14)
*shining* (10/15)
DoLL (11/16)
DanDanDo (12/18)
more more more and DanDanDo have a few hands (and DoLL has like, one)
6/06/2011 - Added the following:
Ghetto Blasta Deluxe (10/16)
Second Heaven (10/14)
Dazzlin' Darlin (9/13)
Super Driver (10/15)
No. 13 (12/17) (in association with DARQs)
B4U (10/15)
xenon (11/16)
As before, see the previous post for the download link.
My edit folder is now full so this seems like a good time to take a break from making edits for a while, especially since I'll be concentrating more on my stepfile releases from this point. Enjoy!

"TAKING IT TO THE PIE" |
REVIVE ZOMBIE THREAD:
Why? Because I read this thread and noticed a lot of discussion has been addressed with http://www.simphonyonline.com For anyone that posted edits here, sign up for an account and actually add your edits to the site (please read the instructions!) It supports only U/E edits, but it does supports couples charts.
Feedback is welcome and I hope to revive this thread to have more people create edits and host them on this site. Here's a few videos of stuff I've added to our X2 machine here in Tennessee:

So a member of my community (see sig) has come into possession of edits(for asian/japanese machines) that simulate the Dance Masters choreography.
IIRC, he has edits for L'Amour remix, Kimono Princess, A Geisha's Dream, etc.
Has anyone made and willing to share these edits?

And on this topic of edits, does anyone know where I can find the edits found in the Extra Mix Edit Bank?

I have a DDR_EDIT_J.DAT that isn't working on the X3 machine.
Version KDX:J:B:A:2012050800
I remember reading a little bit saying that certain edits aren't allowed on the machine with this version but I am not exactly sure what this means.
Can someone help me out this is a little confusing.

From what I know on a X3 machine, only edits for content found on X and before (genuine) are allowed. Since there's no home release of X2 or X3 that supports edits, they know that they were made using other non-Konami approved methods.

That's weird, because I made an edit in SuperNOVA and carried it over to X CS JP to .DAT the file for X3 and still nothing. :\ Humm...

It could be possible that the machine does not have edits enabled (it's not on by default). Does it at least recognize the USB at the start of the game?

No. Rather, it reads it. It's not like the USB doesn't exist because the machine loads a bit more delayed and the USB turns on and stuff, but it doesn't make much of an effort to go past that.
Also, edits are enabled. I wanted to say it wasn't but I remember clearly the edit enabled icon.

Ah, it seems like it's unable to read the USB then. I assume you placed the file under DDR_EDIT folder at the root of the thumb drive? If it loads, you'll definitely know as the game should "pause" for a moment them play a sound effect and show a confirmation screen.

just saying, this thread revolves around edit data you play on the machine, not stepmania edits.
so unless you make those edits to play on the machine, then don't bother.

bumping this from hell because I'm really hoping someone else saved my edit data (the one in the first post)
I misplaced the file... and I don't know where can I find another PS2 to export my edits again. MediaFire deleted my file already (>_>) so I'm hoping someone saved it and would mirror it for me.

I know this thread is old but my local arcade has a DDR X2 (European) machine and I want to make edits to play on it but konami shut down the step editor. Is there any alternatives. I have the Japanese DDR X PS2 version so I was wondering if there is a way to convert those edits to European ones. Like a tool online or something.
