Alright, but the right-hand life meter frame shouldn't show up in single-player. And you used to have it correctly in the last picture.

Me and Midiman are trying to fix that. I'm right now trying to get it working right in 4:3 first.

Dark bar, get on the right side of the screen! You on Doubles mode, you don't even fit. Happy

Wow, this theme is very impressive. I haven't been all that charmed by SM4 so far (one of my biggest annoyances being that it needs some way to force 4:3 videos into the centre of the screen with black boarders to stop stretching), but I do like this a lot.

It's is a table score, As you can see, you can extract some things in others themes. For example the scores, you can find in SUPERNOVA 2 theme, the circle in the score is in DDR X (the circle which is next to the music in music selection), perfect full combo in DDR X theme , Marvelous, perfects etc and level too in DDR X or DDR X2 theme. Cool

Actually, SM-SSC's results screen is arranged almost just like that by default (except it has all of the judgements as of X . Doing the ranking "progress" bars might be a little hard (and may just be left out)

And I am actually aware of the similarities of graphics between X2 and X in some places, thank you for being lazy Konami! Crappy fonts, re-colored graphics, amazing!

What about making a "revised" version of it? Like this:
- The progress bar is full if the grade is AAA or higher.
- The bar is high, but not full if the grade is A or AA.
- The bar is half when the grade is B or C.
- The bar is only quarter in height when the grade is D.
- If the song is failed, then no bar.
- And the bars will be arranged by Machine Record.

Or, an alternate method: instead of OLD -> NEW (like on the real game), what about a ranking bar similar to this quoted block of text:
Quote

E D C B A AA+
wherein the bar increases depending how many times the song is failed (E), passed with a D, etc. Just my two cents.

May be it would be easier to stick with the groove radar chart.

Something like this...

Sorry if the pic is crap quality, but you get the idea of what I'm talking about.

Honestly though, if you used that then it wouldn't really be completely X2 anymore.
Just a thought.

Just wondering if there was a beta release of this or if there could be one. That way we could contribute to what the errors are.

So I realized something today.

http://www.konami.jp/bemani/ddr/jp/am/ddrx2/howto/about.html

DDR X2 widescreen actually moves the steps farther to the sides of the screen. StepMania doesn't seem to really do that.

How do you do this in StepMania. I know can change, say, LifeP1X=SCREEN_CENTER_X-[a greater number here]. But what's the way to move the steps.

The relevant section of metrics.ini:
[ScreenGameplay]
PlayerP1OnePlayerOneSideX=math.floor(scale((0.85/3),0,1,SCREEN_LEFT,SCREEN_RIGHT))
PlayerP2OnePlayerOneSideX=math.floor(scale((2.15/3),0,1,SCREEN_LEFT,SCREEN_RIGHT))
PlayerP1TwoPlayersTwoSidesX=math.floor(scale((0.85/3),0,1,SCREEN_LEFT,SCREEN_RIGHT))
PlayerP2TwoPlayersTwoSidesX=math.floor(scale((2.15/3),0,1,SCREEN_LEFT,SCREEN_RIGHT))
PlayerP1OnePlayerTwoSidesX=SCREEN_CENTER_X
PlayerP2OnePlayerTwoSidesX=SCREEN_CENTER_X
PlayerP1TwoPlayersSharedSidesX=SCREEN_CENTER_X
PlayerP2TwoPlayersSharedSidesX=SCREEN_CENTER_X

In sm-ssc, the WideScale() command allows you to set a value for 4:3 and then 16:9 aspect ratios.

AJ, thanks. Lirodon, if you're looking for values like 16:9 AC's, for 16:9 stepmania, 0.65/3 and 2.35/3 for the first scale values seem about right. I have no screens of 4:3 X2, so you'll have to try different numbers for 4:3 probably.

@AJ, A second question: how do you shift the note receptors vertically? StepMania needs them shifted up a good 6-10 pixels to match DDR X2 AC. I couldn't find any words on a quick skim that looked like they were what I wanted.

Also in the metrics. sm-ssc normally uses a UserPreference for this, but these are the default values from StepMania 4 alpha 5:
[Player]
ReceptorArrowsYStandard=-144
ReceptorArrowsYReverse=144

Will that code also take effect when I use it in SM 3.9+?

Speaking of you suddenly, think you could get on MSN? I still need some of that code, and I think I got a better way we could handle this.
