Imo
is harder than
on a lot of part. There is more akward moves (you have to switch feet very fast + jumps...) in
even before the slowdown part.
The ending rush is possible with good crossovers, but that's really HARD.

I was only talking about the start to middle of the song.
The ending is just funny with that jump.

I don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but The Other Side
from SN1 US CS is pretty hard for a 7. I'd say it's more like a mid-range 8, since it has trills and crossover gallops.

Ramdom player "Oh i try this, it's a 9"
*beginning of Paranoia Hades

*failed after 20sec*
"What the..." xD
This is exactly what I did. Then I tried the Standard a little while later, and still got owned.

You lose in Standard because of the jumps.
Pass that and enter the middle and it'll be cake.

I think too many of Konami's new charts are misrated.
There are also pretty much all of the songs that were rated a 6 in DDR 5th Mix, most notably My Generation and Swing It.

Those two in particular should've been rated 7s, especially MY GENERATION (damn gallops). Then again, 5th Mix used the 1-9 scale, so I'm somewhat surprised they're 6s.Post #88 · Posted at 2010-04-29 06:50:37am 15.2 years ago

Gallops are hard, though, so no song with a decent amount of gallops should be considered a six-footer.
EDIT: I guess this is too opnionated. Let's just say that gallops are too hard for six-footers in general. Is that okay?

That's because any HP song that wasn't already re-rated just kept its old 10-scale rating on S+. Extremely lazy.

Exactly! It should be rated a 12 or 13 on

The thing is that Konami doesn't care as much about its mobile market. It's trying to get people to buy their main console releases, and it's generally giving it a taste of the full version (with Shake mode). DDR S has around 30 songs I think, a good amount for a general demo (starts out with about 10) while DDR S+ has 3 songs to start out with, but over 100 up to download.
So they're a bit lazy about their iPhone releases, but they might do something about their misratings eventually. On the iPhone, Trip Machine Luv Mix is rated a 12, it should be an 11 or 10. Same with Kiss Kiss Kiss.

Speed. Definetly based that one on speed. Anywho, they got it right, dropping it to a 9 and making it a 13 on the new scale (I'd personally argue that SAGA is way harder, but okay)

SAGA is not harder than Sakura
I think the problem with everyone is that they think Sakura, CHAOS, and Bag should be 8 footers or something.
Look at Sakura. The beginning has 8th note triples in the beginning at 300 BPM. That alone makes it a pretty tough 9 in DDR. then you get the slowdown that's really hard to time well, and you have the 16th note portion afterward, again at 150 BPM. Not too many 9s even have patterns like that. Then you get some 8th note patterns at 320 BPM. Nobody new at 9 footers is going to be able to do those, especially that last 8th note run. Sakura is a 10 on the old scale. Easier than Max 300. I'd call Sakura the unofficial 9/10 border, and I'd rate it a 14 on the new scale. (note, I do not think Sakura is hard. i have SDG on it).
Name ONE 8 footer pre DDR X harder than Sakura. Better yet, name any DDR song with similar step patterns.
CHAOS. I remember people saying this should be an 8. I don't think it should be a 10, but a 9 is definitely acceptable. Even if you have the stops memorized, you still have 16th notes at 170 BPM, including quite a few triples at the end. I'd call this a harder 9. I'd call it an upper 13 or low 14 on the new scale. Really, the only other chart with 16th notes at 170 I can think of atm is Doki Doki, and that has longer drills, so you can't really compare the two. (I also think Doki Doki should be a 10)
Bag. We all know bag was only a 10 because of the clutter (which isn't even that hard to read on 1x, so that was pointless IMO), but even if it was 130 BPM, I'd call it a 9. I'm not going to go too much into detail because everyone knows this chart.
SAGA. It's hard, yes, but nowhere near Sakura. It has no 16th notes (worth counting), and is just stepjumps. If stepjumps aren't your thing, I can see how it would be hard, but it's only 200 BPM for most of the chart. I'd call that a harder 8/low 9 on the old scale. I'd call it a 12 on the x scale.
On the Break doubles should be a 14, not a 12 btw. I'd call it a low 10 on the old scale. That ending is tricky
Going back to the xbox verisons, I think Midnight Blaze remix should be a 10.
I'll think of more later.

Yesterday, I barely passed On The Break, it should be a 14, I agree. >_>
What about TimeHollow? Seems like it's too hard for an 8 on the new scale.
