MARVEL vs CAPCOM 3 (Official Trailer Announcement)

I don't know about you guys, but as I mentioned in my previous spectacular sleepy crazy talk post, I'm real excited about the DLC Costume possibilies and ready to fork over all the cash Capcom wants for them! Anyway, I decided to post this here to see what other people are thinking about.

I have only ever seen people automatically assume Jill will be either S.T.A.R.S., Tube Top and Skirt, or even B.S.A.A. but I'm thinking no way since this is crazy brainwashed looney tune Jill. I imagine she'll just throw on the rest of her fancy-pants 'Bird Woman' mask and cloak gear and call it a day.

I didn't list this above, but what about alternate reality Deadpool, Lady Deadpool from Deadpool Corps as an alternate costume for him? It would be ridiculous, but if M.O.D.O.K. can be a hot tranny mess, so can Deadpool! ;)

With all due respect to you, I couldn't give a flying rat's fanny about spectator mode.

Give me costumes all over my face and glasses.

The reason I don't really care about spectator mode is because I have no problem finding both Player and Ranking matches while playing through Arcade mode and switching the match request option on. (Yes, it's a completely selfish and unreasonable... reason!)

GIMME COSTUMES!!! I WANT THEM!!! *salivates at upcoming Captain Steve Rogers DLC on Tuesday* I... want... it.

I do like the idea of having a Savage She-Hulk costume, Wekser STARS costume, and a Morrigna bartender costume.


I really don't like having a character in a cloak.

I imagine that if Jill did have her cloak on for the match, it would be whipping open and around like crazy so she wouldn't be too covered up most times. If visibility of what she's doing when you're up against her is what you're concerned about.

I'd much rather have spectator viewing than costumes. I don't like entering a lobby and waiting 5-10 minutes just watching two License Cards banging away at each other. Thankfully, I hear there's a patch for that coming out in March.

As for costumes, some of your suggestions were okay, but many of them seem kind of out there. With Morrigan's new Flight ability, it seems like she would need those wings for it to make sense, and it would just seem odd to slap those wings of hers on most "normal" outfits. Also, Sister Felicia. Yeah, it looks nice, but it just seems ridiculous to fight like that. Her fight intro in MvC2 even consisted of her wearing the sister outfit and then tossing it away, probably because she knew how nutty it would be to fight someone while wearing it. Also, Punk Storm = No.

Also, as for dual-persona costumes, I haven't played DMC, so I can't say anything about Gloria/Trish, but Lady Deadpool (and to a lesser extent, Mei-Ling/Hsien-Ko) would just be weird as hell unless they actually hired another voice actress and recorded a new set of lines, and since they did no such thing for M.O.D.A.M./M.O.D.O.K., I wouldn't be too hopeful for that happening.

I do like some of your ideas, though. S.T.A.R.S. Wesker, Mayor Haggar, SFA Chun-Li, and UDON-Taskmaster would all be pretty cool. For Hulk, Green Scar isn't bad, but I'd rather have a Joe Fixit outfit like he had in the first Marvel: Ultimate Alliance.

The decision process behind my Morrigan and Felicia costume choices were simple. I went with what is generally considered their most iconic alternate looks. Even in Cross Edge, the game where I got that art from, those are their primary alternate costumes before the themed (bikinis, kimono, nurse, etc.) costumes.

About Morrigan's Flight Mode. She's surrounded by an aura like Trish. The wings have also never moved before in any game. Unless you meant her dashing around when she turns the wings into a jetpack. I figured that the weaponry and gadgetry created by the wings would appear and reappear as needed when she's in this costume. I'm actually a little surprised that it would seem you can't suspend any disbelief in that or Sister Felicia for that matter.

No love for Punk Storm, huh?

About dual-persona costumes. I was actually really careful to not go down the wacky internet route such as Black Cat as Felicia or Rush/Treble as Amaterasu. I actually used Dante's announced DLC costume as a model for this. Sparda is his father and was an alternate skin you could play as in one of the games. It's been a million years since I've played it, but I remember them being identical in gameplay. It was just a fun easter egg mode.

Gloria is Trish's disguise in Devil May Cry 4.
Hsien-Ko doesn't really have any iconic alternate looks, so I looked toward Mei-Ling. This is me being a fanboy, but I didn't think it was such a stretch for their roles to be reversed via costume DLC.

I'm not really sure what you're saying about M.O.D.A.M./M.O.D.O.K.

EDIT - Oh okay, I think I see what you were saying about this. Well, in Deadpool/Lady Deadpool's case, this would just be part of the Deadpool wacky-internet-humor-fourth-wall-breaking mystique to have a female skin that acts, walks and talks like him. That and storyline-wise, Lady Deadpool is just Deadpool from an alternate reverse-gender universe. I didn't think this was such a stretch! Perhaps I should have included detailed reasons for my picks from the start! lol

Joe Fixit is cool. I wouldn't be terribly upset about that happening.

I've only gotten sparse play of MvC3 but I can definitely say that this game is random as hell. When I first played against someone at school, I was like 'I gotta try out Dante and Wesker. Such badasses." Then I saw Amaterasu, went WTF OKAMI. For no reason whatsoever, I managed to beat my friend, who goes to tournaments and plays money matches and has more than a week's experience with the game than anyone else in the room, and handed him his first loss of the day using magic-series and random supers. Ammy/Dante/Wesker lol

My favorite move with Amaterasu? Holding down. That pisses off so many keepaway players and Sent-spammers. Then my scrubby self mops them up with magic-series into DHC when they try to go in. I'm so bad at this game. D:

I still play with that team but I have "good" days with Wesker where I don't teleport randomly in a combo. I tried my hand at spamming with Hsien-Ko/Ammy/Sent. Got some free wins off of my experienced friends until they figured out how to stop my fun. Hsien-Ko's super armor is nasty.

...I'll practice more when I get the game. And a arcade stick. And a PS3/360. >.>
