-Viper- nailed it right on the dot! The PS is region locked so the games from the red PS2 won't work on the black one.

You'll also get the message even if you're using a disc for the system's region. If this is the case, it usually means the game didn't start right so a simple reset will fix the problem. However, if you get it again check the type of CD that the game is using. The blue discs are the ones that have trouble with this. Its happened with my Sims game. I had to reset it a couple of times before the game booted up.

Now, about that black PS2. Since it's the old fat one, you might have some trouble reading dual-layered discs. Just keep on resetting a couple of times until it works. If it still doesn't work, then blame the lens as the lens needs cleaning before it can read a Dual-layered disc.

The cd that was used was digimon rumble 3 (fighting game with digimons, weird taste) english (or something like that).
I didn't bother telling them about diskmagic (?) or swapdisk (?), but they were considering getting it modded (or converted as the one she talked over the phone to said) for a price.

If they're up for modding the old PS2, make sure to clean the lens while you're at it! Don't clean it a cloth though. The lens is a delicate piece of hardware so look around for a lens cleaner in a store where they sell CDs, DVDs, etc.

OMiY, -Viper-, and many other can help you out with the modding so feel free to create a thread when they get the chance to do so if you need any help.

Honestly, I don't want to get too involved in all that jazz. And I'm not that good with electronics (I don't even know how to disassemble my pc, yet). I don't even know why I just up from this chair, flicked out my phone and just took pics of that red PS2 when it arrived.

I'll make use of the offer when I (or they) need it.

Maybe I should aim a little lower than a PS3 or a 360. Or maybe it has something to do with my latest weird dream.

I too am not a tech person so I went with the slide card along with the swap magic CD. The PS2 I modded is the old fat one as well. It's pretty much just switching the cover of the CD tray with the one they give you and the sliding the card through the slot to open and close the tray. Though actually taking off and putting on the covers is a little tedious.

Mod chips and all that stuff, yeah stay away from those...

So I was with a "friend" (looks slightly older than me, I don't recognise her from anywhere) and we were at her house. There we played BM IIDX Gold on her PS2, and I did well for being a n00b on the hyper and the-level-below-hyper charts we played. Then she said that its time for her workout and demanded I leave. So she went into her room, then I barged in, and I saw her playing some bizarre DDR game (from what I remember, i saw a weird Quest mode type of gameplay that somehow resembles HP's groove circuit and HP2's groove stadium on the tv at her room) on an Xbox (I'm fairly positive).

Are the PS2 and Xbox related to the way my cousins got a PS2 each (one JAP and one USA), and did the dream portray me as envious of what they have? Granted, I might have taken those pictures partly due to envy, but it's either that I denied I'm envious or I really was not envious of them.

And this dream came to me a few days before the japanese PS2 was brought home.

Try not to look too much into the dream. It's human nature to want what we don't have.

But if you're thinking things like "why don't I have one?" then yeah it's plain envy but everybody experiences that in their lifetime.

I envied my friend for having a cobalt flux. That was the only reason I would go to his house; so that I could play on it. But he was such a terrible host and his character was very vulgar that I told myself it's not worth putting up with a stunted child just to play on a Cobalt Flux

On-topic: everybody cool with me being the moral character that people go to for help/advice?

I wasn't referring to you -Viper- Laughing Hard

I was referring to some guy back in high school. He was the most offensive, ignorant jerk that you could ever meet. And he doesn't know about personal space either. He would always get up in my face to talk to me. And he would spit on occasion. That's when I started to hate him. His views on women is very corrupt. He actually sees women as items and he thought touching guys' girlfriends in a "no-touch" zone in front of the boyfriend was acceptable by society. I still want to slit his throat before he can reproduce any offspring.Annoyed

Edit: as for my pads, they're not worth the money. I'm already having trouble with the damned things since they're foam.

Like what I said in another forum,

"I'm not that "capable" for lack of better term to pay something over the internet."

A fellow filipino forumer once asked where he can buy usb dancepads or metal pads locally (within the phils.).
Nobody answered or nobody knew.

oh....damn. That really sucks. How about an Xbox dance pad? They come with a USB plug so you can easily hook it up to the computer.

Edit: the guy has been apologizing every time we utter his name so all we can do is wait and keep an owl's eye on him.

You need to hack/change the way Windows treats them. You make it treat them (dancepads) as dancepads instead of standard xbox controllers.

w1p3out: I'm pretty sure he'll get it right this time. But the way he said "I only uploaded what was mine since that's what the page said" seems dubious to me.

I don't see any mention of that notice anywhere when attempting to upload something; I only get a warning for the file size. I've also come across accounts where people upload other users' simfiles to advertise them over here; of course giving credit and everything and uploading an untouched simfile.

I'm pretty sure it isn't a big problem to use a program to allow the pad to work. My brother tried the guitar hero game on the pc using the xbox guitar. All he had to do was map the buttons. I'm sure that there's a user-friendly program that does the same for dance pads.

Yup there is, and tinkering with some *.ini files (probably the xbox dancepad/controller drivers).

EDIT: be right back.
