"On ZiV I'm like Princess Diana" |
Hey guys! I'm back, and I'll be translating TERRA/DDR From Staff blogs again.
Huh?!
This happened one day...
"Huh? Is it really ok for me to do this work?!"
To be continued (smile).
-U, DDR X AC.
Furu Furu Party Interview 6, U1!
Hello, this is Rena.
We have learned a lot in 2008, haven't we?
I've been working hard lately.
Oh, oh, and I've brought the 6th Furu Furu Party interview.
This time, it's a person very important to DDR...U1!
Rena:
Congrats for DDR's 10th anniversary!
U1:
Thank you, and thanks to all of you who love DDR!
Rena:
The Wii DDR games have become a series all in their own. You are the director of these games, aren't you?
U1:
It feels strange remixing a game instead of remixing music
Rena:
Furu Furu Party isn't scary because 2MB didn't do a remix...
U1:
Well, I don't think that would be appropriate for a Wii game (smile).
I think back to all the music I've made throughout these 10 years. I hope I can make someone think "Is this REALLY true?" once again..
Rena:
The title of Furu Furu Party and the game itself are a bit different. Tell me, why did you choose this name?
U1:
Everytime someone asks about the Wii DDR, I tell them "You use your hands"...I've had to explain it so many times, I thought I'd come up with a title that explains it.
Rena:
Hmm...I asked Oota, and he told me something different.
U1:
That tricky...Well, originally, I came up with "Stepping Pretense Party", but that didn't sound very good, so Oota came up with "Fumi Furi Party".
Rena:
Fumi Furu, Fumi Furi, Fumi Furi...
Hard to say.
U1:
(smile)
So, I went up to the heads, and asked them to change it to Furu Furu Party.
Rena:
How mean!
You probably shouldn't tell people about that...
U1:
Speaking of secrets, all the characters are named after someone or something. I wanted to be very precise with the dancing and the music. For example, Domi is short for "Dominant Chord".
Rena:
I see...
Um...
I don't really get it. Could you explain it to me a bit.
U1:
Sorry, sorry (smile).
Well, for some other examples, root is named for a keynote, and harmony is named for a chord.
Rena:
And U.G.?
U1:
U.G. is Glide Uncle. Glide is one of my favorite synthesizers.
Rena:
Is there a person out there who gets this?
U1:
Hehe, I'm truly sorry! I guess I'm kind of a maniac. I wasn't too accustomed to how the fans at the DDR X10 Area Fan Meetings would talk...
Rena:
Oh, what about my name? Where did it come from?
U1:
Er...I'm not really sure.
Rena:
Please don't look down at me!
Honestly...I'm the odd man out here.
U1:
There's a secret in Rena...somewhere that's showing here...
Rena:
...
U1:
...
Well, I know there was some trouble between the difference of "Rena" in Japanese and "Lena" in English.
Rena:
Oh...I hadn't heard that.
U1:
I apologize...
Rena:
It's fine...
U1 wore beautiful clothes, and the atmosphere was cool when I was talking to him.
Huh?!
This happened one day...

I agree.

Why Wii versions doesn't have 2MB songs?
Because Wiimote's moves needs to be sharpened in terms of speed.
--
a 600 bpm song using Wiimote?? = a 20-footer!

Furu Furu Party on Konami DX
Good morning, Rena here.
On the Konami DX site, the songs:
INTO YOUR HEART (Ruffage remix)/NAOKI feat.YASMINE
REACH THE SKY (Orbit1 remix)/TAYA
from Furu Furu Party have become available for download.
INTO YOUR HEART (Ruffage remix) was the song used in the Furu Furu Party PV. It's already familiar with everyone, isn't it?
Furu Furu Party is jam packed with NAOKI songs!
Oh, and REACH THE SKY (Orbit1 remix) is a solid song too. It's outstanding! It stands out in the game because the dancers perform a Para Para dance to it.
Everyone, please try out these Furu Furu Party songs on your cell phone DDR!

Furu Furu Party Campaign Page Update!
Good afternoon, this is Rena.
This will be the last renewal of the Furu Furu Party Special Site this year.
Some nice videos of families playing have arrived on the Monitor Campaign site!
They are all trying their best their first time playing DDR!
Please support your family when they play DDR!
I remember the first time I played DDR as well....
I'd like to dance with everyone!
Rena@Furu Furu Party.
One Month to Go
Hello everyone.
This is Maamu from the DDR Staff.
In Japan, it is December 29th right now.
The sale date for the console release of DDR X is January 29th (Wednesday).
That's right, there's just one more month to go.
When it is released, there will be many modes to play and plenty of nice music.
Hopefully, you're playing the other recently released DDR games to warm your body up in the middle of winter.
You have to be careful not to catch a cold while you're sweating though.
Maamu.

"On ZiV I'm like Princess Diana" |
There's someone by the name of MOM who posted on the DDR FROM STAFF blog on the 10th, so its probably them.
Furu Furu Party Interview Number 7, U1 the Sequel!
Hello, Rena here.
I'm doing my best until the end of 2008.
Once again, this interview will be with director and composer U1-san!
Rena:
What do you want to say to all the readers of the DDR FROM STAFF blog about DDR Furu Furu Party?
U1:
Furu Furu Party is aimed for light players, but you use your whole body, and it's great for exercise and using your Mii character.
Rena:
Well, the readers probably already know that...
Let's hear something else!
U1:
Let's see...Well, we are completely obsessed with the dancing and music of DDR.
From the illumination and twinkling of the stages, to the songs themselves.
Rena:
It's great to hear about small details like that.
U1:
Of course, I wasn't the only one working on the game, but I wanted people to be impressed with the music and create a challenge suitable for the next generation.
Rena:
Furu Furu Party has a PV as well, right?
U1:
That's right (smile).
Isn't creating lots of PVs for a music game just wonderful?
Rena:
Other BEMANI games have nice PVs as well, don't they?
U1:
But the wonderful model of DDR is a culture all its own, and I wanted the PV to increase the pride of DDR. The characters capture the originality of the songs, and a wonderful stage had to be shown as well. I had been impressed by the way the characters danced ever since I first saw them ten years ago.
Rena:
They dance on the Wii stage, don't they? Did you have any trouble making these dancing characters for the Wii?
U1:
Well, for example, you have to be wary of making the characters life-sized because of the Mii's heads. But there's almost no trouble making them raise their hands up and sink their heads down at the end of the song.
Rena:
I see...?
U1:
Did I talk too much? (smile)
As far as the Wii DDR, she modeled it around the Miis. At first, we had eight character models that were unusable. But after a while, we got a number of models that were suitable for use for the Miis.
The whole staff was challenged beyond their wildest boundaries!
Rena:
Because the staff worked so hard, I was able to dance!
U1:
We made the screens flashy too, but you have to be careful that you can still see the arrows.
If you want the easiest time reading the arrows, a black background is best.
But people who play for the game for the first time may think that the game has poor visuals, and I can't have that!
Rena:
The black background is deserted...
U1:
Hottest Party was based on a light pop style, I liked that style. But there was some problems reading arrows, as expected, so we cut that style like a SUPER SAMURAI.
Rena:
Oh dear, the arrows couldn't be seen...
U1:
So in Furu Furu Party, we made the stages entertaining while also making it easier to read the arrows. We made most of the lights appear on the bottom of the stage, so they interfere with the step zone. I would like you to judge how good a job we did. Please try songs on all levels, from Expert, to Beginner and Basic. If you can dance without much trouble, I'll be very happy!
Rena:
Oh, I hope your enthusiasm is able to reach the readers!
Hearing U1-San talk about Furu Furu Party like this is wonderful.
U1:
Well, some people may not know what we're talking about...
Hehe, we might be revealing too much...the blog makers will get us.
Thank you for making this blog!
Rena:
On Christmas, the arcade edition of DDR X was completed!
U1:
I've dabbled in making the Wii DDR games, and I'd like to try to work on other games too...
Please expect it in future DDR games!
Rena:
I know you were very busy today, so thank you for stopping by.
U1:
Both last time and this time, I didn't come out of the shadows. Sorry (smile).
Rena:
By the way, we didn't talk about your music at all...
U1:
Oh...that's right...
Rena:
Yeah...well, let's end this shall we?
U1:
Well then, I'll center myself over here...
Rena:
Aha, you were over there, just as I thought!
