If only they used the HP Love♥Shine remix instead of that garbage from Sound Voltex for DDRA. Then again, Konami would replace said "pure sex" expert chart in HP for garbage like they just did.

The OG chart has some jank but yeah, the newer chart is a lot more soulless.

The new charts for 1998 and We Will Win This Fight are good; the new charts for B4U and I'm Flying Away are ehh IMO.

Most charts in the HP series were dumpster fires, so I'm not sad to see them recharted. Candy and Love Shine were definitely my favorites, but if they give them to us, and rechart them, I'll still be happy. If they open the Ultramix floodgates though, most charts there were great and don't need recharting.

I must be seeing a different chart, because that Hottest Party chart is a fucking mess. It doesn't flow at all.

HP1 is certainly better than HP2 but not by much. Although it is kinda funny how they made better charts when they put the weird gimmicks in first and threaded the rest of the notes around them. That feels like it defies logic.

Nah, it has like 3 or 4 doublesteps, but the old chart is way way better than the new one. The new one feels soulless and generic as f*ck

I love gallops that don't go to anything and streams at 180 that trick you into crossing over only to not actually finish. That's a chart that belonged in a game about ten years older than it came out on.

Yeah, I count 3 double steps; 4 if you don't want to do a 270 which were pretty common in older charts. I rather Konami cleaned up this chart but as we both said, the new chart is just milquetoast. You don't think every DDR player wouldn't remember the double taps in this chart? That's what makes it fun!

I looked back at the chart while trying to be lenient with what I counted (the chart is littered with a lot of awkward steps into continuity-resetting jumps that function akin to doublesteps), and I ended up with 8. Considering that along with the pointless gallops, the chart was pretty unsalvageable in my opinion and I consider the new chart an improvement across the board.

That's the joy of nostalgia though, isn't it? You think Afronova would have its walkovers or Paranoia would have its taps if those charts were made today? I doubt it.

The new song in A20 Plus, jet coaster girl, literally has walkovers in it, it's a tech thing that's been quite accepted across the board.

The modern DDR chart meta loves them to the point it's sometimes too much. Like, you look at a project like DDR XX, and I think 90% of the Expert/Challenge charts have laterals/scoobies/Afronova walks/walking crosses/walkovers/23 skidoos.
