maybe what it means by this screen is that it would be the title screen, just like the old days eh?
btw anyone try controller port 2 at all? it responds. what is contra called for japan? its the same right? I know the old konami code is up,up,down, down, left, right, left, right,b,a start. but the ps2 version contra code is up,up,down,down,L1,R1,L2,R2,L3,R3.
trying to find different codes....gradius? life force? twinbee? I have this feeling they mean the press start/title screen
also to append to what I posted I'm going to try a few of these and see if this works:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Konami_Code
and
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Konami_code_games

Why don't people just use the first ten or so steps to each song's basic charts? That's an idea, there.
And screw 100%ing HMM singles and doubles, I'd rather download a save. If I downloaded a save to my memory card, would I lose my highscores and edits?

Edits no, as that is a separate thing on your memory card. Scores, yep.

Well, I'll stick to just checking out what that unlock is eventually, and not downloading it.
I had an idea for passing Bossrush SN2, but haven't tried it yet. I can't try until after i finish my homework in about 7 hours. (homeschooled)
I could use that setting where all the buttons on both controllers control P1 and P2 simultaneously (down or X on either controller activates P1 and P2 down, etc.), put P1 on 1.5x NOTE and P2 on 3x NOTE. Any button pushed would activate arrow panels on both sides, effectively keeping either one side as alive as the other side at all times. Both sides would get the same grade for each step, too.
Then, my brother could hold player 2's controller (also set to that setting), and he could get all the blue arrows in the fast parts of PHO, NGOO, and PRO, while I get all the red ones. I would solo TMPO, PO, and anything 200BPM or less in the others; we would also watch the appropriate side for different parts of each song, depending on the speed. (1.5x or 3x) Like, we will watch P1's side while working our way through PHO, then he would stop pressing buttons right after that last jump in the first 300BPM section; I would start watching the P2 side, and solo the 32nds and 12ths, until it blasts off at 300BPM again. I would also solo the 100- and 200-BPM parts of PRO.
Would this work, or is there some catch? (of course, I would have to tell my brother not to add in shadow steps to the few 8ths he has to hit)

Don't bother guys, we will know the code in 3 years as part of a promotion of some well-known japanese fast food chain.

Actually, that sounds like a pretty clever idea, and it should work. I actually tried something similar for the fake doubles missions, only to learn that the doubles mode settings are disabled on those missions. >_<
If you guys (the people with the save with that special info screen) suspect the new code could be part of a stepchart, just split the workload and methodically do every chart on the game. Surely you have enough people to just have one person take each song and do the 4 charts for it?

Hey, I don't mind losing my high scores; how do I download a save and get it onto my memory card?

Get a codebreaker/action replay. They have some functionality to transfer saves from USB drives to your memory card. Your PS2 obviously needs USB ports. ;)
I just read this off some forum.

Get a codebreaker...?
Okay, I just did a bunch of searching online (which is, granted, kind of limited due to the fact that I'm at school), and I still don't quite get it. WHAT is a codebreaker?

Well, I tried my suggestion... it won't work. First, controller configuration 7 does not apply to versus mode. That alone would be enough not to allow this to happen, but I also found out that challenge course mods apply to both players, they cannot choose separate mods.
On another subject, I beat HMM singles, and (with the help of my brother) got to area L on doubles.
Gotta work on those courses, now... and buy AFRO:2, he sure is expensive! >_<

Guys, they're going to publish the code on the official website, it will just take 3-4 weeks for them to do so probably.
In other news, Alan told me about something he found on 2ch, and it works ;).
On the songwheel, change the sort to Alphabetical.
Select folder S
Select folder U
Select Folder N
Select Folder K
Select Folder I
Select Folder S
Select SUNKiSS DROP
It will be jun side everytime you do this.

A cheat device, like Action Replay. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Code_Breaker |
I know what it does, and I already looked at the wiki page (it was like, the second thing I did). Is it a card? A disk? A program you run on your computer? What IS it?
Oh, thanks for the SUNKiSS DROP cheat. I love jun side, and I get tired of playing Alison side every time... XD

Oh sorry, it's a disc you insert into the PS2.
And that SUNKiSS DROP thing is neat, I've still never played junside on my copy.

98% on Boss Rush SN2. Uploading a video of it now. That course is so fun... once you get past NGO.
By the way....
Doing PHO's death run is really simple when done separately. But you need both players to know how to go off-beat because hitting the blue notes isn't as easy as it sounds (you'll fall on beat).
PRO would be relatively easy, as it is just Afronova.
NGO might require you to press a bit earlier to get some notes.
Pluto has ridiculous crossovers so yeah.
It might work, but it kinda defeats the purpose of the course don't you think?
Here we go. A video.

Apparently it's been confirmed you don't have to do the S U N folders and you still get jun side now.

I hadn't played jun side until I tried the folder thing... now I play jun side every time.

I've AAA'd it five times in a row. I <3 jun side.
