Since the story/stories of there "never being a 20" for any of the reasons rumored Konami is thinking, I'm curious what y'all may think of this idea. This may be an unpopular question/opinion, but I'mma ask:

Would you be for or against Konami "lowering the bar" and re-rating some songs to make them a 20? I currently can only think of maybe 3 (MAX360 CSP, Hou CSP, and Superior MAXXX CSP) that could possibly pass as a 20, with maybe a debate about Endymion.

We know Konami off and on has re-rated songs over the years, and with someone saying a few posts ago that Superior MAXXX having the highest stepcount of all songs, beating MAX360, wouldn't that be something to consider to be a 20? Again, this is probably an unpopular opinion that some or maybe most of you would disagree with as it may be a disappointment/cop-out, but like someone else said, after 16 yrs (first 19 being Valkyrie dimension), you would think enough time has passed...... However, if the rumors are true that making a 20 isn't a priority for them, and that 19s rarely go played anyway, of course they may not be motivated to make a new 20, so I guess just consider making any of the 3 highest stepcount songs a 20??? Just a thought. This is coming from someone who will never pass a 17 or above anyway, but just wondering if that would be acceptable?

I’d support that, personally. When DDR World first came out it was thought that might happen since a ton of existing songs were getting up-rated.

I'd go with that, though it wouldn't exactly be based on notecount considering how ridiculous Steps for Victory is. (I think MAX360 was more of a lower 19, only really testing raw stamina)

I don't mind that idea at all. They could even maybe bump up a couple of the highest 18s to keep the 19 count up.

For the first 20 they should release a song with 19 ESP (to build up anticipation since there’s currently no 19 ESP) followed by the inevitable 20 CSP a short time later

Wow okay, most who replied say they support the idea -- actually surprised by that. I was sure most would be opposed to that idea and call it a cop-out if they upped an existing 19 to a 20, but some may chime in later on this to say they're against the idea. But honestly I think it's a reasonable idea for to consider. Because if 19s are rarely played as it is, my question is what is the percentage of 19s that have been passed or is it just players play it one time to pass and then poof, that's it, or do they just not even bother? Rhetorical question, but just a thought.

I'm with ehitshe. I think the current ratings should stay the same and they need to bring in a 19 ESP.

Endy and StV are undoubtedly the hardest 19s we have now. Either is up for debate for the hardest.

But I think the 1st 20 needs to be a longer song. Somewhere in the 2min 30 sec range. We already have 2 songs at that length (or close to it).

1. DDR will be featured in the next pop'n & BEMANI Cheers × Cheers!! event. Boku no kimochi wo egaku and BILLION MONEY BAZOOKA will be crossed over to DDR, Neverland and Monkey Business will be crossed over to pop 'n' music and a new original song 'Fragarach' will be added to both. Event is upcoming (no date as of yet)

2. A new HinaBitter song will be added to DDR at 10:00(JST) today

Probably waiting for the US and other Asian countries to get set up with their pop'n cabs

Late to the conversation but I always thought that 19s existed so the top players have something to compete over besides tiny increments of PFCs and MFCs. Still remember when Endymion WR went from 980k to 986k overnight and how huge of a leap that was.

We've got a date for this now, it's the 28th
