I hate when this happens. I had roughly the same deal pulled on me when I went to graduate my community college. However, I was able to escape the English they required by taking the comparable CLEP test - don't know if that's an option for you, but it's worth looking into. $75 (IIRC), easy to schedule, done in one day, bam. If you can't do that, I would slap your advisor and take the class online from a community college.

Also, the university I'm attending has everybody take a writing exam in their fourth year, way after the English sequence is over. The test is very easy (support an answer to an ethics question, minimum 400 words), but it's their way of gating the graduating seniors and making sure everybody is able to express themselves in reasonably plain English, something somewhat lacking in the technical disciplines. I can't speak for your school, but I imagine they've got a similar motive.

Went to the advisement center today. The lady there was so nice, but she ultimately couldn't do anything. She did, however, express her opinion that the WPE was a stupid requirement and told me that it was one of the most common problems students came in with.

So, it looks like I'm going to try to apply to Fullerton college. The problem there is I don't know if they have a limit on how many units they'll let you transfer over, considering I'll have 139 by the time this quarter ends :/.

We have something similar in the CUNY system called the CPE. It's a 3-hour writing exam that's required in order to graduate with at least an Associate's Degree. The worst part is that you're only allowed three tries.

think my German teacher's computer has Conficker. He unsuspectingly went to a fake BBC to show us a lesson, and then ended up being redirected to porn. That, and there was a message that said "Click here for the scan you computer for viruses."

My goodness, have you advised him to use Malwarebytes?

Ah, it all worked out .

I talked to the head boss lady at the testing center and she said it has been a huge problem getting transfer students to know about the requirements. She said I can take ENG102 in the fall and take the WPE in the winter along with any classes I need .

So my internet is being really stupid for some reason & it's annoying. For the past couple of weeks my computer been running slow lately to the point it wont connect to any site not even Google Half the time I have to reset my router & modem for it to work. Same with my Xbox, any thoughts?

Call your internet provider to see if there was an outage near your area.

If you have Time Warner Cable (or a company owned by Time Warner), that's probably why.

I had a problem with my internet just a few hours ago.

Then, I found out my modem was screwed up, so I took out the battery, put it back in, and VOILA! Internet is back again!
