I'd like A-Special charts.
On the condition that they are actually fun charts instead of stuff like MAX 300 X-Special (though to be fair MAX 300 is so iconic they were pretty much doomed), or MAXX UNLIMITED X-Special (no seriously do people actually like that chart?).
Also, it'd be cool to do them for SuperNOVA-2014 songs (like how X-Special was 1stMIX-EXTREME).
But then I think about the idea of NGO (A-Special) and then pls nope I don't want that.
Seeing how it was based off the hardest songs of 1st-5thMIX, and then based off of Extra and Encore Extra/One More Extra for MAX-EXTREME, I can come up with an idea why doing it X-Special style is a really bad idea: most boss songs from SuperNOVA to SuperNOVA 2 were already kind of either overstepped (Fascination MAXX in particular, but it's a bit present in some others), or pattern ridiculous (PARANOiA ~HADES~, NGO, Pluto Relinquish, Healing-D-Vision's you know which stream), and really we don't need those to get worse.
You could do some pretty fun A-Special charts if you arbitrarily picked charts from the past.
Good candidates for hard A-Special charts:
A (lol)
Xenon (harder to step well, but it could be done)
AA (lol part 2)
RED ZONE (why yes, there might be a bias towards IIDX songs)
Xepher (originally underwhelming boss song that could be difficult)
Also, total coincidence, but I like how all of these are from the AC DDR SuperNOVA Boss Rush Episode III.

Did people liked the X-Specials? I recall all but like maybe 1 or 2 of the charts being complete ass. So I have no idea why anyone would want new ones.

I would be happy if all special charts were gotten rid of (X-Special, Air/Freeze/etc. specials) as well as all shock arrow challenge charts, and just add a song option to add shock arrows to any chart if a player desires.

I'd be ok with a Hiphop song (either a new song or some stuff from beatmania/early IIDX). Or instead, some crossovers from CORE REMIX (Beginning of Life would be interesting, since it's more complex than the original).

Ok, so if the picture is correct, this is the analysis:
MAX. (Period)'s groove radar values:
We don't know CHAOS, but I assume it's the same.
Freeze is 8 in both 2014 and A.
Air is 56 in 2014 and 54 in A.
Voltage is 101 in 2014 and 100 in A.
Stream is 153 in 2014 and 142 in A. (!!!)
I can't read Japanese, but I see the english letters "DP" in the quote, which usually means "Double Play", so this means it looks like the Groove Radar has been changed in doubles mode.
Which suddenly makes the change to "Stream" make sense - I think they were figuring EGOISM's 270 Stream on Challange Doubles was getting kind of ridiculous to look at.
Not sure about the Voltage and Air changes, though. I wonder...

Well, wasn't it a thing that they kept changing the algorithms because of songs pushing the limits further? It'd be interesting if instead of it being because of EGOISM 440 it would be because of some new song coming in an event later on or something that'll push it even more.
