Sucks for anyone who bought songs for this game. Yikes. I never liked this game, even Konami had no faith in keeping it up. It was one of the worst freemium games I have ever played.
You honestly have yet to play DDR FREEDOM. I don't play much DDR so...

Good riddance. Maybe now Konami will release an actual DDR game instead of a mobile app. I don't get the point of releasing a DDR game that doesn't use your feet to play, it defeats the entire purpose...

I had some coins left over, so why not use them?

I don't know if the dithering is on my end or if they're stored that way.
(EDIT: Ah, probably should have checked if Zenius already had the banners before I bought the worse of the two packs...)

*deeeeep breath*
1. If you don't play much DDR, no crap you weren't going to like Dance Wars. It did suffer from game-destroying bugs for a fragment of people, I'll give you that.
2. Dance Wars isn't to blame for lack of focus on DDR, especially since they did a **** job promoting it after the first event.
3. Therefore NOTHING good is coming out of ending Dance Wars. There is no reason to celebrate unless you find joy in laughing at those of us who legitimately enjoyed the game or could never play it.
4. This game was actually good to many DDR fans; go attack classroom edition if you want to blame something for distracting Konami.

Yes, because this game being a damp squib is exactly the impetus Konami needs to release a DDR in America, safe in the knowledge that it'll sell well......oh, wait.

This is pretty bad for people who invested in this game, and Konami's conclusion that DDR doesn't sell well in America continues to be a self-fulfilling prophecy...
But I'm actually glad this happened now, while the game was still young. It will tell them that always-online games are a mistake and ultimately don't work. And should they ever lapse in reasoning long enough to release another DDR game in the west, they'll hopefully go back to the classic model.
Judging by the way the console winds are blowing, they'll either try another iOS release or make a PS4/One game (Since the coding for both of those consoles will be nearly identical, and the Wii U has seemingly fallen out of favor).
I just wish DDR games outside of Asia didn't have Mega Man syndrome. "Maybe THIS time it won't suck..."

This game embodies what the XBOX ONE had envisioned. It is scary will drive me from buying new game consoles. I fear the day that KONAMI stops support for jubeat and Reflec beat plus but the games do not need to have a constant Internet connection to run. So even if the stores closed, the songs will still play. I just hope that day isn't near. Hell, the two has lasted longer than what this sad game has had hahaha.

The console aside, it would actually be up to Konami whether or not a One DDR game would need to call home to play. I'm in the same boat as you, and would only dare buy it for the PS4 if that actually happened. I only mentioned it because both consoles have the same architecture so porting the game from one to another would be trivial.
If Konami were humane, they would release an update to Dance Wars that allows it to run offline, but I won't hold my breath. For all of us who care about the game as part of the series, we're just going to turn all the exclusives into simfiles for the whole world to download. Konami has to realize that.

...wait there were none that were announced, sorry, oh man I feel like an idiot now seeing that we had only one DDR game that was accessable to the public and actually had a decent/proper songlist and the Customer Support team actually DID things to help better the experience to the game for whatever it was worth. NEVERMIND THEN GENTLEMEN CARRY ON.

hay u guiz
or do we mean DDR in America, cause that's a bit of a lost cause at this point. Dance Wars is/was basically the last US title we are probably going to get for the foreseeable future.

I actually have no words for how mad I am at Konami right now.
I bet all the resources are going into Classroom Edition because they fucked up the heavy-equivalent charts so goddamn bad, or one of their other shitty mobile projects that are basically attempts at bringing pachinko to the phonespace.

I don't think anyone did. Last I checked there was no record of anyone buying the $99.99 worth of DDRCoins...but someone did buy the 49.99 pack.

Other resources..!? What?
>Implying they really had a lot of resources to begin with.
I honestly agree, call me cynical, that this was probably testing the US markets with a new DDR. Obviously look how horrendous it turned out. (Even if it's like, the absolute worst platform they could have released a game like DDR on.) I wonder if it was an attempt to see how many of the hardcore fans were still around and willing to shell out money to keep a series afloat. In the end, look how well that turned out, the game was pretty much doomed from Day 1, I would say, that's like, if anything, just the official confirmation that the game's dead outside of DDR 2013 and DDR: CE.

You know, it seems "porting" music games that weren't made for touchscreens just isn't the greatest of ideas.
I mean Rock Band on iOS got pulled a few years ago...
Oh well, there's always DDR S+
However, I have to think that if Konami is insisting on making another iOS game...they just need to "port" DDR 2013 on over. It could act as an "official" home version...maybe have interactivity with the arcade version. (Training mode, edit mode, etc.)

A full arcade version released on iOS would actually work now, iOS 7 will allow for hardware controllers. Combine that with AirPlay and you have an arcade in your living room. The phone/pad screen could act as a panel for the machine buttons.
DanceDanceRevolution for iOS, with only the brand new KOs and covers released with the new arcade. Make an online mode for VS play and leaderboards and GameCenter integration (not GREE). And make it OPTIONAL! Allowing single player to work even if there's not data connection. Then Konami can go back to releasing Calvin Harris and Jason Mraz packs 'till their blue in the face. =\
