Here are a few more pros and cons with other changes I've seen.

Changes
-Warning sound on countdown timer doesn't start until 5sec. (on 2014 you get 2 warnings. One at 20 and one at 10 with 10 making the warning countdown.
-Can't confirm 100% but identical scroll rates feel a bit faster on A. Reading 600BPM scroll feels faster on A for example.

More Pros.
+Ex score displaying in results screen. Such a nice feature. I wish they went an extra step to have two records per song, one for EX score and one for Dance points.
+When sorting by BPM, it includes Expert and Challenge only, no standard, thank god. (note, this is unlike when sorting by difficulty.

More Cons. (These are kinda nitpicky)
-All modifiers are not on a wheel. Let me explain. For DDR 2014, let's consider Risky options. For it there are 3 choices. Normal>Risky 4>Risky. If I am on Risky, all I need to do is hit Right to go back to Normal. Not on DDR A. In fact, every option is the same. If you decided to choose Stealth one time. You'd have to hit Left 6 times just to go back to normal instead of hitting Right once...
-When holding down start button in option menu, it won't stop at last one. On 2014, if you hold it down, it will stop at the last line to give you chance to confirm it. It was useful for getting to bottom options faster. Just hold down to get to the bottom, then go up once to modify risky for example. Which brings us to...
-You MUST hold both left and right and then start in order to go back an option. On EVERY other mix that does that, it is possible to just hold left or just hold right before hitting start to go back, no longer the case. (Yes, if playing on white or black cabs this is a non issue. (More reasons I think they didn't make any effort to make a SD cab port of this game.)

Like I said, most of those cons are pretty nitpicky. But for someone who plays as much as I do, changing things that worked fine before is annoying.

The first con is quite annoying. The second con should be bearable. The third con isn't that bad but muscle memory could screw you up.

Really, that was a thing? When I played 2013 on an SD cabinet, I was so used to doing "left+right -> green" thanks to ITG that I didn't even notice I could've just used one button. Maybe they did it because people were trying to move too fast between toggling options and advancing?

That would be a fantastical situation (just imagine DDR A vs DDR 3rd/4th mix!), but I think that not only would such an ordeal be complicated by DDR's American revival, but also by EMI becoming defunct in 2012.

A little more realistic, I believe, would be to hope for 'coincidental' or new Dancemania licenses (a la DDR II), or hope that some of the new songs from the famous Dancemania artists appear.

If I spend an hour or so to make a [..] beautiful standard chart and a fun light chart and it's required for the comp, play it, or at least look it over other wise I don't see the point anymore[.]

New dancemania licence would be so so great! the old DDR songs is way MUCH better than DDR today because they focus more on Vocaloid and Anime... Japanese edm is so dope Green Grin

I'd like to save ex score too. I was disappointed that they revamped the scoring, lowered the letter grade thresholds, then basically left marv = perfect. It means that a 400/40/1 (black flag) won't update a 355/86 PFC, which is sad. (This has happened to me.) In IIDX, PNM, and Rb that score would save.

Imagine rivaling a friend, and you've got 86 perfects on Saber Wing CSP, and he's got a more reasonable 50 or something. How does getting that 400/40/1 now make you feel?

Also, I heard that the Butterfly SPECIAL ARROW has been removed.

It's actually the only arrow I use when playing ddr. (at least the recent ones that included it)
I hate DDR A.

The Greats/Goods awarding 60%/20% of the score feels just a bit strange, but at least it's loads better than DDR PS3 which literally had the two award a whopping 75%/50% of the score on top of lowering the AAA threshold to 975,000. (Contrary to popular belief, Chain Arrows and Groove Trigger did not inflate your grade in that game; the easy AAAs were entirely due to the factors above.)

This is a great change IMO. Would like an option in the mod menu for EX score while in gameplay, as well.

Approximately nobody asked for this song to be included. Least popular decision by the Japanese since Nintendo released the Wii U.

Apparently it was possible to show the EX score in 2014, but inferring from the video below it had to be set outside the options.

I haven't heard many people echo about the EX score, so pardon me if you already knew it could at least be shown.

Technically speaking, we speculated as such, but we only got confirmed for the AA+ and AA-; we just guessed that other grades existed because it would be kind of logical to for them to exist.
