Z-I-v Simfile Shuffle 2015 — thank you for playing!

I want to apologize for not finishing SOMEDAY in time. I got distracted by Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon and working on my pack, then the next thing I knew it was 10pm Sunday and I only had two charts finished. It was a wonderful song, and deserves a wonderful chart.

I may not finish it again this week, but I'd like to use my second veto to buy in. Hopefully I don't get crazy Speedcore or Eurobeat ^.^

[edit] F!!K FACE is hilarious, and I totally see some awesome charts for it. I doubt it would get points, but I could have a hayday with it.

Based on that video's description, it does say it's "fuckroom house" as a genre, not actually "noise".

Also something to note, I found out that both Sigatrev and Scatman (Extreme Splitter Mix) have charts up on youtube. Maybe that can shed sone light into Braeden's ultimate intentions.

This is the longest song I've ever stepped, at an exact 2 minutes 29 seconds. It's gonna get submitted mad late, but it's very steppable dubstep. There will be 1/2 time segments, no doubt, but I'll make sure they're not overkill. I can make this into a high-quality chart.

Just finished (it always takes me less than an hour) and added the half time segments (and a quarter time segment). This will be another boss song with a couple gimmicks, but they're mainly for looks and to make the transitions a bit easier. Most likely the difficulty spread will be 3/5/8/10, and there won't be nearly as heavy footspeed as WOW WAR TONIGHT.

As for chewi's dilemma, @vincentw- you have full permission to use my backup submission for this situation.
And there's no way it's sabotage. It's kind of obvious that Braeden is a huge ITG fan and expects that any one of us can make a speedcore chart. Psi Glory was very obviously his submission, and it was far from unsteppable.

I'll switch with Chewi if Vincent or Scarz allow it. Not that I don't like the song I got, but i'd hate to see him sit out because of what he got. Besides, this wouldn't be the worst thing i've ever stepped.

Do you think that repeating a certain rhythm 7 times in a row would be okay? I don't feel like karaoke stepping and I think it makes for an easier file that isn't too chaotic.

Only if you think it's necessary, Some official charts actually don't step to the vocals but yeah, it depends.

Okay, on second thought, I'm going for the karaoke stepping route.

Another thing I'm wondering is how often I should use crossovers. I'm stepping Rock the Club myself to calibrate my stepping + gimmick skills. I think my version is too crazy with the gimmicks, but to me, it's fun to play and amusing the first time. But anyway, I think there are some crossovers in this song + that chart I'm working on that might be a bit too frequently. I did a brief playthrough with Cattleya and Into UR Heart and they don't appear as much, but then I go to Nigra Ludia and they are a bit more frequent.

Okay yeah between submitting Rainbow Road in last year's shuffle and stepping the 3 Year Anniversary mashup during the Summer Contest, this should have been really easy to guess. And now this round someone gave me some more Monstercat to step.
It doesn't sound like another Mokou submission but how funny would it be if it was?


It's really something to decide on a case by case basis. I like using crossovers for various things, including:

- Accenting a really intense part of the song (songs gets more intense = steps get more intense)
- Accenting a certain part of the melody; sort of a "pitch relevancy" technique.
- Just because crossovers are more fun than facing forward the entire time.

But that's just my own preferences. It's up to you to decide how much is too much for a song. As long as the end result isn't Healing-D-Vision or something don't be afraid to try it.

It depends a lot on the song. Usually, one would use crossovers when the song warrants itobviously, which can mean several different things. I'd say it's most commonly used to accent certain parts of the melody in the song. For example, especially high pitched tones and vocals work great for crossover usage. Accenting certain sounds in the percussion can also work, like using crossovers to accent the snare drum (instead of using jumps, for example).

As long as your crossovers actually follow something and are somewhat consistent, you should be fine. Just don't feel like you have to throw them in for no good reason.

Due to users agreeing over F!!K FACE being unfit vincentw and I are willing to offer chewi a song from the backup pile if he'd like.

Also, another issue which we would like to address is that Braeden47 was not the one to submit the file and that accusing him of doing so was a bit unfair to Braeden47. Albeit he may have submitted a few questionable files in earlier rounds I don't think he did so with the intent to sabotage anyone. Don't forget that this is just a friendly contest so have fun and don't take things too seriously guys!
