I was only awake like 30 minutes when I made that post, so shhh!

But anyway, the GameSpot worded it weirdly:

There are five difficulty levels that range from Basic to Expert and include Challenge, a mode that features a few wacky step icons like the shock step, which must be avoided rather than hit.

They mention five difficulty levels, which we assume to be BEGINNER to CHALLENGE, yet they have not mentioned from BEGINNER to CHALLENGE, but they say from BASIC to EXPERT then including CHALLENGE and (an additional?) mode for the shock arrows?

It's just really awkwardly worded to me.

I remember back in Dancing Stage EuroMIX they did have an individual title for each foot level up to about 9 connected with the general difficulty levels of Beginner, Standard, Difficult and Expert.
Went something like Simple for 1 foot, Ordinary for 3, Genuine for 6, and the two I remember well were Exorbitant and Catastrophic for 8 and 9 footers respectively because I never dared do those after trying one song on each and failing miserably.

Maybe Fascination MAXX, Fascination eternal love mix has new foot rating. Maybe = 11 footer and = 12 footer for Fascination MAXX

What difficulties should Chaos have then, considering it's awkward stops yet low BPM for a boss song?

I reckon it should be downgraded to a 9. Though it's very hard to say.

It's a 9 IF YOU KNOW IT, it's a 10 otherwise.

Honestly, CHAOS on absolutely not 9 footer song but 5 footer song. On is not 9 footer song too but 7 footer. is not 10 footer,but 9 footer. is quite fit to called 10 footer song however is still low 10 footer song compare with MAX 300 that more difficult than CHAOS.

Butterfly on 11 footer? How can it be? That song not so complicated ,so it not fit to be 11 footer song. From i know, Smile.dk songs usually not so complicated.

I feel I should say this before pandemonium over this '13 footer' thing really kicks into swing:

Since most of the previous 'DDRX difficulty expands up to 13' and 'BUTTERFLY Challenge stepchart is an 11 but is EXACTLY the same as the EXTREME version' (the song is now confirmed, that's pretty good for a random rumor out of nowhere!) rumor is proving to be true, I would dare say that it's more than safe to assume that this does NOT NOT NOT OMG SUPER NOT mean DDR has adopted ITG style difficulty. This is just like any other BEMANI game that changes the way it rates difficulty from time to time, they just waited like a billion years to mess with DDR for some reason. BUT OF COURSE that wont stop some morons, including some of you (who are not morons, you are all quite sexy.), from flying off the handle in excitement about how AMAZING these new OMG HARDCORE STEPCHARTS are going to be and then cry and wah wah boo hoo caca poo poo when you realize that 11 is just the new 8. My advice to you guys would be to save yourself the nerd rage and tears for more important matters.

Fascination MAXX on both of the top difficulties 13, etc. and speculation...I don't wanna wait until August/ September! >_<
