Er, it's a wiki so there may be some errors at some point but what's the deal with no course mode? In our arcades, we don't have access to E-amuse and unlock codes don't work in DDR X2. I always had to play course mode to play the 2nd mix licenses outside of 2nd mix mode along with Mermaid Girl and Chronos to name a few.

Wow, how are they going to get a 13 out of The Island Song? Haha, well I'm always a fan of more charts and these songs certainly needed new charts (if not complete chart rewrites anyway) so I'm glad to see them utilizing Challenge to make them worth playing. Makes it a little more exciting, since having all the Enjoy unlocks being CS songs is a little underwhelming.

USB updates probably.

I reported that there are no user USB ports on the cabinet but during the startup routine the machine asks if there are any updates via USB. I'm guessing that there's a service port in the back for updating a Local Mode machine. That could be the solution to the Asian release in areas that don't have eAmuse access. Especially considering that this mix will live and die by updates.

I'm guessing some really chaotic patterns and iffy jump sections. I can sort of see how they'd make a 13 out of it, but im 50/50 on how it'll turn out. Now if only they would re-do the rest of the charts for it...

I would hope it to be more of a stream-ish chart than a chart with chaotic patterns. Personally there are times in which I enjoy overdone charts.

Few other things to point out.

There's no intro for this game, there's no how to play, there's no demonstration. It's the title cards on a loop, that's it.

This is the first DDR machine to have no direct lighting at all. There are no colored spotlights on the marquee, just LED stripes indirectly accenting the semi-transparent plastic around the speakers.

The Enjoy level climb is extremely slow compared to X3. You usually go up one Enjoy level per game, two if you're full comboing a set of 15s. I dunno if that's how it was when X3 launched but I don't remember that being the case. The people who are hitting level 60 have literally been playing for two full days straight. I was watching a number of AAA players who are still between 10 and 20.

The Double/Expert chart for escape is pretty decent.

The PARANOiA Survivors have slightly altered background videos. They use the same EXTREME 2 videos, but the footage is run through filters, mirrored and recolored in some places, and the sides of the videos are duplicated to fill a widescreen without stretching the original aspect ratio.

I didn't get a chance to double check Bonnie today, and since there are still X3s hanging around I'll check if there are differences with Heavy Rotation tomorrow.

Lack of intro is a little sad.

Well my character is set to Emi, who's wearing the same old thing too. I've been playing X3 for a month and a half since coming here and the ones I listed as having new outfits are the ones that jumped out at me. and now I think Jenny has a new outfit too. Again, there are still X3, I can go through all the characters and double check to make absolutely sure.


KONMAI is right... a similar glitch happened on original DDR machines when the CD-ROM drive lens would get too dirty to read the data off the disc fast enough. What's the excuse this time, I wonder?


They're very predictable after the first play. They're all one beat long, and the slowdown takes one beat and stretches it into two. Other than that the charts are kind of simple. But definitely fun.

Haha Monkey Business looks hilarious, I love the sound from what I can hear! Awesome first EXTRA STAGE!
