Don't forget that PARANOiA HADES Difficult is a 15.
That chart had the most jumps and is definitely out of place at the
spot. The others are fine. I feel as though PH got a Beginner, Basic, Challenge and 2 expert charts.

They must have changed it again then. I read that it was a 15 in the X {AC}.
A 9 translates to what... a 7 on the old scale? I find it extremely funny how the beginner chart for this song is considered tougher than the Expert charts of many other songs. I suppose Konami thinks very highly of speed as a difficulty booster.

For a long while (with the exception of EuroMix2) the difficulty of Beginner charts was determined by the song's BPM and not how the actual chart was stepped. (0-179: 1. 180-249: 2. 250+: 3.Post #884 · Posted at 2009-12-12 11:41:32pm 15.7 years ago

AAAA should not even be considered.
LMAO. Same thing i said... AAAA should NOT, at ANY POINT IN TIME, be in DDR....
...
...
Unless the DDR is StepMania.
and even THAT shouldnt have it
sorry in advance, but i'm a very blunt person...
WHY THE FUCK NOT? back in the day people thought that DDR shouldnt have SSS(old scale, 3rd mix. 1st and 2nd stopped at SS for an FC) because no one would get all perfects on anything(remember that while it happened on easier stuff the AAA craze didnt really kick in heavy until 7th mix. anyone remember when yasu AAAed afronova and everyone called shoop?). the bottom line is players ARE MFCing songs. Why not have AA, AAA, and AAAA? it just makes sense. there is NO point in having the grading scale stop at 99%. its like saying ITG shouldnt have quad stars. its fucking stupid, and it feels very incomplete. AAAA should have been added to courses on extreme, and to game mode on SN2. its that simple. hell, we can even keep the full combo, perfect full combo, and marvelous full combo things that appear. ITG was very clear on what the cut offs are, and it still had those along with your grade.
I think the Stepmania grading system is fantastic and I vote for the addition of AAAA in DDR.
Also there is ONE SENTENCE that talks about ITG. I for one think the ITG scoring system is absolutely fantastic and should be in all dance games, but alas, it probably won't go down well with Japanese players but I could be wrong :/

n00b_saib0t and Mercury : +1
Seriously, i don't see the problem with the AAAA grade. This should be in ddr.
Something that said "you finished the song" since Marvelous is appears on regular play on SN2.
AAA with 52 perfect or 0 is VERY different (huge accuracy gap). Instead of calling this "mavelous full combo" they should change "AAA" into "AAAA".
And like Mercury, i love itg's scoring system. I think he is fair. Marvelous/Perfect has only 10 points difference on ddr, witch is ridiculous

An AAAA would be cool, but I think it's a little too (or rather way too) difficult to obtain to call for a whole letter grade dedicated to it. The vast majority of songs on Expert/Challenge would probably never be AAAAed by anyone anywhere.
If they added something like that, it would probably be better if it was "Golden AAA" or something like that, showing that it's a higher tier of AAA.

For the record, Faxx Light Doubles has an amazing freestyle freeze arrow during the slowdown. It's even cooler than Unlimited's Light Doubles chart.

I for one think the ITG scoring system is absolutely Fantastic
Fixed?

As Marvs are tighter than Fantastics though, I'd want them to lower the requirements for letter grades (especially AA) to make them feasible without ridiculous MA ability. What was the scoring system in ITG anyway... *heads over to GrooveStats and Recall* OK, looks like Fantastics/Freezes/Mines are 5 DP, Excellents are 4 DP, Greats are 2 DP, Decents are 0, Way Offs are -6 and Misses are -11. In comparison, post-SuperNova Marvs/Perfs/freezes are basically 2 DP, Greats are 1 DP and non-combos are 0. In Oni mode, Marvs/freezes are 3 DP instead - this 3-to-2 ratio is a much bigger difference to Perfects than ITG's 5-to-4, and combined with Marvs' tighter window make it hard to break even 90% on courses. So I wouldn't mind something like 5/4/2/0 (that is, give Marvs 25% more weight than Perfs instead of 10 more points), but I think they should bring it in slowly to see how it takes. Also choosing new grade borders is pretty big. I think they should test out a new grading system like this in course mode, since those scores don't have letter grades and are only compared to themselves.

If AAAAs were added, it would be inevitable that the requirement for them would be lowered eventually, since it happened with AAs (which used to only be full combos) and AAAs (which used to only be perfect combos). You can't expect anyone to get all Marvelouses on an 18, so there shouldn't be a grade for it, just like MAX isn't an actual grade in IIDX, since you can't expect anyone to get that on the harder songs.

Tyma, you're so silly, half of your posts are full of misinformation! 1-18 scale how silly.
(Well then again so is a 1-43 and a 19-99 scale, but eh.)
(Well then again so is a 1-43 and a 19-99 scale, but eh.)
I just don't understand the logic that everyone else uses :{
DDR had a scale of 1 - 8
DDR 3rd Mix had a scale of 1 - 9
DDRMAX 2 had a scale of 1 - 10
DDRX had a scale of 1 - 18
I can see what you're saying, in regard to Edit Data and way the scale is graphicaly depicted, but the easiest song is a 1, and the hardest song is an 18. It's hard to explain to new players "Oh, songs go from lvl 1 to lvl 20.. But there isn't a lvl 19, or a lvl 20. They just go upto 18".
It's like saying the original DDR had a scale of 1 - 10, and they just didn't bother making any 9s or 10s for several years after. They're obviously just going to raise the cap higher and higher as they go along, to accomodate harder and harder songs. If DDR X2 is the last game, they might not even make a 19 or a 20?
I realise I'm going to take a massive rating dive, every time I point out something stupid like this, but I'm not being malicious or contentious, or anything like that. This just doesn't make sense to me, so I'm going to come out and say it. I think DDRX rates songs on a scale of 1 - 18, with 18 being the very hardest songs in that particular game :{
I think the charts in 19 or 20 will come out to DDR X2...
Remember the crossovers from IIDX?
They're not CUT the songs. There's a possibility of 19 and 20 popping out.
Then, Possession has 18 on

Or, maybe NAOKI has secret song to kick the X2 to the new hard song?

Agreed.

Something that KONAMI should see..
But, is the MARVELOUS FULL COMBO statement is enough (for now)?
Coz I think that some pro players could make some MFC, but for n00b & amateur it's REALLY hard to achieve MFC..

jesus christ people. players get better at dance games, this is why AAAA is needed. by the logic that it cant be done now, 5 years ago we didnt need anything above a B grade in ITG because thats all the best players could get on pandemonium. its gone up to a FC tri-star now, so pull your heads out of your asses and see what people are capable of improving. like i said, back in the 7th mix days an afronova AAA was unheard of, but it happened. its only a matter of time until someone starts MFCing on expert, just like it was only a matter of time(took a few years) to get the first quad-star. people kept saying it wouldnt happen, "13 on da roots is the closest anyone has gotten, and it was da roots for god's sake. no one will ever do it". now fucking DELIRIUM has been quad-starred. its just a matter of time before some crazy japanese mother fucker MFC's max300 and all you dip shits are saying "why the hell hasnt konami added AAAA yet? those lazy fuckers".
quick question, what the hell changed everyone's mind since the SN2 AC thread when one of the japanese players MFCed raspberry heart and we all went ape shit over the absence of AAAA?
think about all that and get back to me.

Okay, sorry if I make you mad...
I know there are so many good DDR players, especially in Japan & America.
At here, it's quite difficult to achieve MFC. Because the lack of DDR machines & we're not always playing DDR everyday..
That's just an opinion, right?

If AAAA is possible, that's should be good then.

I think it's fine to stay at MFC since that's something that can't have its requirement lowered like a grade can, and it can still be shown off, since it shows behind AAA in the song select and results screen. Also, as far as I know (though I may very well be wrong), you can't sort by what grade you get on a song, so it's not something that needs to be separate from MFC, all it will probably do is make more MFCs necessary to unlock various (sometimes useless) things on console versions, especially with the Dice Master Mode missions on X2.

I woke up and saw that there was over three pages worth of new replies and thought we got some new info or something. I was wrong.
and why are you guys even compaining about AAAA grade? From what I see only a few people should have that argument - dr.d, n00b, djsterf and a couple of others - as they have the skills needed to even reach that grade.
I can't AAA jack shit so I don't even care, and neither should the majority of you, considering the scores put in the score tracker for you guys.

I for one am the type of person who likes to inquire on the mechanics of the game, even if it doesn't always really apply to me all that much. Maybe I'm interested in how the overall scope of the game works rather than just interested in what I myself will earn.

Well, but on Course mode, it won't be ridiculous anymore

Remember this video?
You'll need about 1126 Marvelous & 45 Perfect to get an AAA(990,xxx)
For me, i'll never get such a high score. My highest score for Ranking Course 4 Difficult was 981108......

I am in favor of adding the AAAA in DDR AC.
For one it just makes sense. Why havent we had it since DDR SN2?
Though we can see each mix since SN2 has improved it starting with SN2 still giving you a AAA Perfect Full Combo and then DDR X giving you a AAA but Marvelous Full Combo. Hopefully with this trend the will made the addition of the AAAA in X2. Also if you remember I did mention to U-San at the test location to consider making the addition of the AAAA mentioning that players are getting MFC's in DDR X and would like to see more of a reward for them.
Off the top of my head I can name at least a dozen Expert/Challenge songs which have indeed been MFCed including my own MFC on. Reach Up.
This is not to begin to count the MFCs on Single/Double beginner-Difficult which must be such a huge # by now.
In conclusion DDR players are in need of more motivation to achieve MFC's and what better motivation can come if players learn they can achieve AAAA's instead of AAA's.
