So I decided that with the exception of Roger Ebert's reviews, since he actually knows what he's talking about, I'm not going to bother reading any movie reviews ever again. It just pisses me off how most of them just talk out of their ass and are never able to back up what they say, at all. It's like most of them just watch a 2 minute trailer and base their reviews on that instead of watching the movie.

For example, here's some things reviewers have said that have annoyed me:

- Reviews of 9 (the animated one, not the shitty musical one) said it was "derivative". Derivative of what? None of them said what made it so generic and derivative. If you're going to say something is "derivative", you should probably state what it's derivative of.

- Nearly every review of 2012 went on and on about scientific inaccuracies. Do you seriously expect anyone (other than scientists and such, of course) who watches disaster movies to even bother giving two shits about scientific accuracy? Sure, if they're REALLY off, I'll notice it and be mildly annoyed by it but I don't let it ruin the movie for me.

- A bunch of reviews bitched about how Where The Wild Things Are was "too dark". Not everyone interprets things the way you do, dipshit.

There's probably a lot of other examples I could come up with, but I'm tired so I'm not going to bother.

Looking at getting DSL in the next couple of weeks. That should fix my internet issue.

I get the same way about music reviews. They'll call an album "revolutionary" just cause it sounds kinda different (though not neccessarily good). Then some of my favorite albums will get called out of touch with the music and that it should've featured Kanye or something retarded like that. Then of course you have pitchfork media, which will tear apart any nail an album to the wall if they aren't indie and are signed to a record label. Unless of course its Radiohead, in which it will earn a flat out 10/10 off the bat.

Sometimes I read Pitchfork's reviews just for a good laugh.

You also have music reviewers who are completely biased against one genre and will trash anything in said genre (see: Lambgoat and most of their reviews of metalcore/deathcore bands). The only website that I even somewhat trust review-wise is AbsolutePunk.net, and even then a good portion of their reviews (mostly user reviews, some staff reviews) are completely biased.
