Got the game today!
Liking it so far.
Although some of things in Request Mode make me laugh pretty hard such as:
Get an A or higher on DIFFICULT or higher on any song with Judgment timing set to -6.0
(and the same but with +6.0)
Also at first I was going to scream my head off thinking there was no progressive scan, but they just moved it to the actual options menu instead of holding down X and Triangle on startup.

IIRC, there are several songs on HP1 that have only ~30 steps on beginner.

1, 2, Step on HP1 only had 19 steps IIRC. If you played with hands, all 19 of those were right hand markers.
In HP3 anyway, roppongi Evolved is split into 3 different charts in Training Mode. Ver. A is full of streams, Ver. B has gallops, and Ver. C is is once again, the hardest one with chaotic with stops and some nasty jump sections.

True, but this is by far one of the lowest on a PS2 game.

Sweet, making singles charts for you is dirt simple then. I'll just write a program that picks a random number between 1 and 4, then sticks the arrow in that column. No need to spend time thinking about foot placement, just run it to generate a bunch of steps, then spend 5-10 minutes editing to some rhythm.(the doubles version of this program is already written)
