Closing comment

Some new charts = Good
A chunk of new charts that have been winning = Asscrap

Back to the main page, the bracket only really shows a few "old v newcrap" upsets... DoLL beats Cartoon Heroes, Vanessa beats HVAM, Anti-Matter beats A and Valkyrie Dimension beats Drop Out. All of these songs have their quality merits, and though I'm saddened by a couple of results, I can see the reason for voting for either.

Both old and new charts have their merits. People tend to forget that the older mixes had some really crappy charts that Konami has quietly swept under the rug. I'd say the good/decent to meh/crap ratio is better now than it was before.

This actually wasn't hard because, while i understand that we pitted both a new and old song together, Blind Justice and MAX 300 have what could be a "personal" step chart depending on the person giving the vote. Therefore, i give my vote o MAX 300 because....

....yeah. I've played Blind Justice's chart, fun but...i've only ever really played it no more than 10 times in my DDR lifetime.

They're both really good stepwise, it was tough to decide. Now, I'll give you this, BJ is the better -song- of the two, but MAX is just so memorably terrific. If this were double-heavy, rather than single-heavy, I'd have to give it to BJ.

(I already voted, I'm just partaking in the discussion.)

HVAM vs. VANESSA = that one is really tight. They both have their merits.
CH vs. DoLL = they're both challenging, but DoLL's was just more fun to execute. Those jumps were made for turny showoffing.
I'm not sad to see VD heavy move on, but I'm sad to see DROP OUT get... well, dropped out. It's one of the songs I just can't pass by on the tracklist without playing. Same with A .

Blind Justice has a pretty solid chart. Flows with the music well. MAX300 chart was the first chart for 10's and while it was pretty well thought out, I dunno....

Max300 is the original extra stage, c'mon lol. It defined what hard charts would be in DDR, it's basically the precursor of what later would become the base of that pesky "hardcore" ddr ripoff, ITG. Maybe that's not a good thing to you, it makes it special in a way so it deserves the vote.

BJ is just another IIDX port with ok-yet-could've-been-better chart.
