I'm sorry.

As a host, I bear equal responsibility in this decision to send PM warnings to the 8 people. Although I was vague in an earlier post, I was originally completely skeptical of collusion, much less enough proof of such to take action. Somewhere along the line, I bent, and ended up compromising with VanEden. Everything I was afraid of came true, and worse. The decision bred animosity among the accused and caused many unrelated entrants to drop out from the stress of drama. Said proof was circumstantial and left plenty of room for deniability. As I said earlier, much of my stance was built with opinions and uncertainties. Those aren't enough to make a warning, and I apologize for making that judgment.

Please do not attack VanEden, and please don't attack anyone for that matter.

The purpose of a host is to manage the contest to make the best experience for as many people as possible. Although we thought that the warning would help this, it proved to be the complete opposite. This decision was not borne out of a vendetta of any sorts.

Finally, please do not feel like you have to specifically vote for files you don't like to avoid suspicions of collusion. And of course, a level of cliquey interaction and overlap between friend groups and simfile preferences will most likely be unavoidable in any context.

I've already sent this out through discord but I need to but it here as well.

So the message was sent out of concern for what could have been seen as bias. It was weak evidence which is why I didn't want to make a public post about it. While the people we consulted about it said it looked suspicious, there wasn't any proof past that. While I personally believe it could've been handled privately without posting the message to the thread, I will admit it was extremely short sighted to make those claims and pretty fucked up to try and call you out over it. Like I said, nobody implicated is going to banned. As I said before I have the final decision on how the contest is run, and that means I take 100% responsibility.
I sincerely apologize. Everyone please refrain from attacking anyone but me since it was my decision.

It's a bit hard to trust this when we all know the same people will just accuse us next week. I'm not saying you don't mean what you say, I just don't trust whoever PM'd you initially.

Thank you, Van/tak. I also apologize for any fuel to the fire I might've added by posting Haley's vote sheet or quitting because of "Charting School". I understand it might be difficult to come up with 5/6 unique and interesting themes.

If you're in need or in doubt, you can always post forms for people to throw in their week ideas to consider. There's plenty of people willing to help.

Just wanted to say thanks to the hosts for the apologies. It was hurtful to be accused of cheating and feel like my reputation on the site was being tarnished based on anonymous PMs and conspiracy theories. It was especially hurtful because I entered this contest in order to motivate myself to make charts and get back in the community again after a long absence due to battling depression. To be caught up in these accusations really left me feeling like my participation in the contest isn't wanted and that's not really a fun feeling to have, especially in a contest that I've been a participant in for so long.

I'm going to try my best to keep participating if only because I set a goal before the contest to participate in every week and I've been able to do that so far, so I don't want to break the streak, but I have to admit that the points I've received thus far seem kind of hollow now that I know there are people out there who think I'm cheating. Let me just make it clear that I never ask anyone to vote for my file unless they genuinely enjoy it and deem it worthy of points, I don't give points out unless I genuinely enjoy a file and I don't participate in any kind of 'votes for votes' or similar type schemes with anyone.

there's a split off server called rhythm maniacs, but aside from sharing a lot of the same people, it's not a zenius server
