Recently beat Mass Effect 2. Spoilers and stuff.

So I was scared shitless going into the final battle because I'd heard that even if you do everything right, even if you successfully complete everyone's loyalty missions, even if you make all the right decisions during the final sequence, some of your teammates can still die. The cutscenes ended up being the most stressful part of the ending, because I always thought someone was going to get killed. Samara makes a biotic barrier to protect from a fuckton of insects and after my character runs ahead, Tali and Mordin take their sweet time shooting at crap, all the while, I'm yelling at them through my TV to hurry the fuck up. I nearly shit myself when Garrus got shot in the side, but then I cussed out my game for scaring me when he got up like nothing had happened. Some of my friends still think it's bullshit that I got my whole team out alive.

I've never cried at a video game. I've never been phased by a character's death. Hell, I even laughed and cracked jokes when Sephiroth skewered Aeris. But I do think I would cry if I let Tali or Garrus die. They're like bros, man...Except Tali, being a chick and all.

I'm really surprised that the Oscars nominated movies that aren't shitty drama movies for "Best Picture" this year. I would have never expected Up or District 9 to be nominated. They probably won't win but it's still really surprising that they got nominated.

I also didn't expect them to nominate Coraline for "Best Animated Feature". It's one of my favorite movies, but when I heard it was nominated for an Oscar I jizzed in my pants, like a boss.
