Ever played I Wanna Be The Guy? There are at least three such traps (two cutscenes, one Fission Mailed-type event) just off the top of my head, which are intentionally trying to catch you off guard. In one case the boss throws away a glass at the end of the cutscene; if you don't move immediately after you regain control, it hits you and you die. Though in its case, it's meant to be hilariously cruel; a "normal" game that tells me to Press X To Not Die is basically asking for me to return it to the store.
