Cool new song! Really puts me in a party mood! Can't wait until DDR A comes out - with a song like that, I've got high hopes for the rest of its song list!
Don't forget, I'm angel for yoooooooou(|[*'v'*]|)

I'm gonna take a guess that Hands Up in the Air is gonna be the theme song for DDR A. Pretty decent! Big Grin

Hands Up in the Air is the kind of cheesy EDM song I expect in a DDR game, so I'm all for it. The chart on the other hand could be MUCH better. I think it would have been better if they made it a fun 10 or 11.

Maybe it's just me. but it seems like the charts in the last few batches of songs have been very mediocre or bad. I hope this trend breaks when A comes out.

The song sounds cool, I definitely like it. I actually thought the chart was also pretty decent, but again, it could be just me. If anything, I'm glad it's not a really boring chart like the last few we've been seeing. There's only so many ways to make a low difficulty chart "fun", so I hope DDR A actually has more higher difficulty charts but with more variety in how the charts are stepped.

Why not both? I'd rather have fun and creative charts than a ton of 15+ charts showing up all over the place. Harder doesn't always mean better.

My post did not mean that I wish Konami would just dump 15+ footers all over the game. I only meant that it would be nice to see more of those in the mix as a whole. Every difficulty in the game is enjoyable to someone. I do not, of course, mean that hard charts are necessarily good, especially since we've seen countless examples of charts that weren't done well. That's why I call for more variety: there is not a single chart in the game that is truly liked or truly hated by every player. It's just that harder charts tend to allow for more variety in how they're stepped compared to routine 10-11 rated charts. Besides, a lot of songs with a 15-16 difficulty chart also have one between 10-12 just above it, so it's not like putting a few more of them really hurts. So sure, why not both? I agree with you there. Smile

The way I see it...there should be difficult charts if the song can warrant it.
If you can't play the 14+ footer, play the other chart(s) for the song? lol

If I had to nitpick the chart in any way, I would say that it should be a 12, not a 13, and that there's a doublestep issue that I would take care of. (See 1:13 on ZEROWOLF's capture)

Otherwise, for what it is, the chart is fine, and the song is cute.

"five minute white boy challenge"
I feel like the song's pretty bland, but at least it's catchy.

Approximately nobody asked for this song to be included. Least popular decision by the Japanese since Nintendo released the Wii U.

I wish U1 would go back to his old roots with songs like MAKE A JAM. Same goes for TAG with songs like Take a Step Forward.

But their newer styles are good nevertheless.

I agree wholeheartedly; look at the jun songs, for example. Unbelievable and Kimono Princess have excellent Difficult charts which are fairly reminiscent of other Jun Expert charts.

I really wish Konami would implement a difficulty sort that's like IIDX - sorting by difficulty would show all songs with a chart of that difficulty. It would go a long way toward granting "credibility" to the non-Expert / Challenge charts.

No one's EVER going to listen to this one, unfortunately. The Expert chart and the Challenge chart are the only charts, and if we can't clear them, instead of playing the Difficult chart instead, we just complain about how the song's too hard.

As foolish as that is, it's true... it's like some of us really just want to complain for the sake of complaining, about the existence of a chart we don't enjoy, rather than just ignoring it and moving on to stuff we do like playing. It's not like Valkyrie dimension on any difficulty can hurt you if you just stay away from it.

I'd said earlier that Kyunkyun's chart looked pretty boring, but after shadowing along to it in StepMania, I can say that it LOOKS boring, but is actually pretty fun to play on foot. I also shadowed HUITA and would agree that seems like a 12, or on old scale, a medium 8, harder than some other 8s but easier than Witch Doctor, which I remember being an 8 as well.

Speaking of shadowing, does anyone anywhere still do it?

If by shadowing you mean playing as if on a pad, (but not actually), then yes I still do that.
I found HANDS UP IN THE AIR pretty fun. I agree with the sentiment that it should be a 12 as well. The only contrary thing would be the 9 16ths. I also think the 16th jacks were fitting.

DDR A is cool and all but can we talk about how EGOISM 440's final freeze arrows don't end on the same note

Now that you mention it... LOLWUT!? I had to watch an arcade line-out video just to double-check, and yeah, they are uneven. E440's Challenge chart is just too fast and complex for me to make sense of anything in it anyway though.

hands up in the air is weird because it sounds like 3 different songs mashed together - there's the first part which i like that has the melody, but then at the next part it's this abrupt shift to what sounds like a completely different song. then later down the line there's a third part that doesn't go with either of the first two. it would be a nice song if it stuck to one style, i think.

kinda like most club version songs, that dont stick to one style which ends up making them sound weird
