Nice relevance.Extreme > Extreme 2

By the way, I disagree almost entirely. If we're talking about CS versions, I liked MAX more than MAX2. I liked Extreme2 more than Extreme (US versions).
But this is about X3, and you can't judge it yet because it's not even out yet. It's not even remotely close to being out yet.

It's kind of interesting, actually. I wonder why they didn't rename X3 and, instead, decided to break the "pattern"?

The "X Generation" is a drastic series reboot, why not number them like this? It's better to think of them like DDRX 1, DDRX 2, much like beatmania IIDX and GuitarFreaks/drummania XG.

Because X2 is the 12th game in the series, and X3 will be the 13th.
It's just a simple way to get back to numbered releases, after SuperNOVA kind of screwed that up.

A chat I had with a friend a few weeks ago:
Doesn't it seem strange that all the current Bemani games have named releases while DDR is still counting by numbers? It did to me until I started doing research on the old Dancemania series that DDR used to be heavily tied to.
If EXTREME was the 8th mix, SuperNOVA the 9th, and SuperNOVA 2 the 10th, then X (against some logic) is the 11th. But Toshiba did the same thing with the main Dancemania series they had. After Dancemania 10, they released Dancemania X1.
DDR X(1), X2, X3...
Dancemania X1, X2, X3...
What's even more interesting is the 2ndMIX tie-in with X3. Dancemania X3 was released around the same time as DDR 2ndMIX was. Early 1999.

Wow, now that you bring that up that is absolutely crazy. I wouldn't doubt that they doing some sort of throwback to the old days while bringing the old with the new.

I still worried with DDR II title on Wii.
OK if DDR II = volume 2 that means volume 10 = DDR X (OOpss... DDR X title again ? )
And then volume 12 = DDR XII.

The question is the revival licence songs.
Does the revivals is exactly same like 2nd Mix or X3 Edit ?

13 - DDR X3 vs Dance Dance Revolution 2nd Mix
The numbered releases end at Extreme, which dropped the "8th Mix" tag when it was announced that it would be the last AC game, probably in order to make is sound like the "definitive" DDR game. SuperNOVA's name and theme suggests that it would be a one-off "grand finale" for the benefit of western gamers, so it didn't bring the numbers back.
DDRX was named because it was the 10th anniversary of the series (even though it wasn't the 10th game, or actually the 10th anniversary of the series at all), and then from X2 onwards, the numbers match up again.

It isn't like that. Doesn't it seem strange that all the current Bemani games have named releases while DDR is still counting by numbers?
It's just that the games have "2nd names", but they still have their numbering.

But what about the other DDR AC titles like Solo Bass and Solo 2000? How do those fit in?

Dancing Stage games and Spin-off games were never considered part of the main (numbered) series.

Part of the deal with Toshiba EMI was that in exchange for being able to use Dancemania songs for next-to-nothing, Konami would only feature songs from the Dancemania series, and couldn't license songs from outside of the series. They also had to include adverts for the Dancemania CDs, both in-game and on the attract screen demo.
To get around this, Konami trademarked "Dancing Stage" as a seperate series of games, which conviniently run on the exact same hardware as the DDR games. Up until the constract with Toshiba expired, any game which contained music licensed from outside of Toshiba was renamed Dancing Stage.
The Solo games were originaly going to be Dancing Stage games that featured a new cabinet that could be sold outside of Japan, to arcade owners that couldn't afford the space to give to a full 2-player DDR cabinet. They ended up being Japan-exclusive games that each showcased songs from a different Dancemania series.

They have found a spot in Europe as being the European versions (which are themselves based on the American home versions versions) based on specific DDR mixes (which feature local licensed songs alongside/instead of Toshiba EMI).
And the Japanese Dancing Stage games (games with content from True Kiss Destination, Dreams Come True and Disney) suddenly make much more sense.

Has anyone heard of any news on any new music or any transplants that are going to be included on the game? I'm kind of hoping they would send us some news of some actual Konami Originals posted by anytime now.

A friend told me that Silver Dream has been transplanted to this game. I doubt it since none of the listing as of now confirm the song's inclusion.

Hey uhhh mageman...Who is this friend by any chance? Is he also the one who said about how the fans can vote as to what the next DLC will be for the PS3/360 DDR 2010 version?
As for Silver Dream, wasn't it already in a Hottest Party? Why bring it back?
