Considering IGN is biased towards certain publishers (*cough*Activision*cough*), I wouldn't be surprised.

Look at Kimono Princess's step chart and try to say the HP2 step writer didn't make that chart. I dare you.

Okay, the HP2 step writers did not make that chart.

Or, at least if they did, they REALLY improved on their technique. You can't even compare this chart with the trash that was SILVER DREAM. First off, KIMONO PRINCESS does not have NEARLY as many spins as SILVER DREAM does. There are two spins at the beginning of the song, followed by some tricky crossovers near the start of the first verse which devolve into easy crossovers which devolve into just normal step flows until the chorus. The chorus itself is quite easy save for a tricky crossover after the 16th clusters with the 8th notes and a few other relatively mild crossover parts. The slowdown part is easy enough as long as you're not double-stepping the freeze arrows like you might be tempted to. The very last freeze arrow is the tricky part, because you're going to be required to do the right-left-right-jump pattern with your back to the screen until you hit the stop at the jump and spin around. On the Break does a similar thing during its slowdown period and its always a blast to do. After that, it's basically the chorus steps again with MIRROR on until you get to the end, which has two sections of two quick streams of spins.

SILVER DREAM does not have nearly the attention to detail that KIMONO PRINCESS does and basically just randomly throws spins, crossovers, jumps, and freezes all jumbled together and says "Good Luck!". Now, in terms of what the steps go to, there are some similarities here. However, KIMONO PRINCESS is not as air/freeze heavy as SILVER DREAM and the 16th clusters that KIMONO PRINCESS uses are more complicated that SILVER DREAM's.

As for me, I give this game an 8/10 so far. Amazing KOs and charts, but many disappointing license charts and only 60 songs.

EDIT: By the way, when I say "easy" in the first paragraph, I'm only referring to step placements, not the actual density of steps etc.

Great explanation, pie. And yeah, comparing SILVER DREAM to KIMONO PRINCESS, major differences spurt out including the fact that KP is not as ridiculous and not messed up.

So far, giving this game a 7.5/10. Go away shock arrows. And what's with WWBOM Expert? And then, the worst boss chart in all of history: Pluto The First Challenge. Unfixed.

Other than that, it's a pretty cool-looking game. Will hoar Kimono Princess once unlocked.
