On the note of USB ports, do they tend to just not work with certain drives? I've tried my Imation flash drive in four different X2 slots (which had USB enabled), and it never even tried to recognize it.

There was a list YEARS ago that listed all the working USB drives that would be recognized by the system's OS for DDR X2 (It was Japan but i also think it worked for the US version...or was that DDR X?)...

I have no idea where that list is, that or if it even matters since it should be able to read almost every single USB drive out there...

It was for Japanese DDRX. The main problem is that a lot of USB drives from big electronics retailers are partitioned in such a way that allows them to install software onto any PC you insert them into.

The problem arises because the primary partition of these drives is usually a tiny read-only partitioned containing the software, and when you plug the drive into something like a car stereo or a DDRX machine, the machine sees the primary partition, and assumes the drive is faulty.

Try using the opposite side slot. We found out yesterday that our slots are crossed for whatever reason.

I tried both sides on each machine, no luck. Maybe I'll try bringing a portable external next time?

Try connecting the USB drive to a another device which isn't supposed to have more than one hard drive inserted in each slot at the same time.

Wow, there are loads in Blackpool. And none in North Wales. Weird.

I have to say I was disappointed. Many of the songs have been edited down terribly, steps are poor and everything is slightly offsync.

Slightly offsync in what way? I've heard our EU dedicabs are fairly early.

I play on a couple of the ones in Blackpool regularly. Namely in the Lucky Star, and the one on South Pier. Both of these have pretty awful pads (although one not as bad as the other), and they seem to have an off-sync/drifting issue (this is particularly noticeable when I 'chicken' in on a friends game).

I've put the Unlock level 2 codes on both of these machines.

Holy crap. So what are some of the remaining "Holy Grail" achievements on X2?

FC MEI Challenge? I don't think anyone's gotten that one.

I'm sure a few have actually. Valkyrie DimensionChallenge is probably the only song without a FC

I'll assume you're talking about Singles only.

Here's a list of 18's on Singles and the max score that I'm personally aware of off the top of my head. (some may be hilariously outdated)

Ones that I can't fully remember being FC'd are bolded

888 - Brosoni FC'd with 10 greats and 990k, 513 got 995k and Ringo got 996k but there's no video so I don't know if they're FCs
Anti-Matter - Brosoni PFC'd it
DEGRS - Brosoni FC'd it with a turn mod (Shuffle?)
FAXX - FC'd at least a few times by someone who passed Boss Rush IV on SN1
Felm - Brosoni PFC'd it
HDV - FC'd at least a few times on Shuffle, and once on Mirror
MAXX UNLIMITED (X-Special) - I'm absolutely sure I saw an FC video but don't remember the score, Brosoni AAA'd but I don't remember the score or whether it was an FC or not.
MEI - Not FC'd yet
New Decade - Not FC'd yet

NGO - FC'd at least twice by 513
PHADES - Ringo got 1 good on it on X2, I think I recall an FC back on SN2 but I'm not sure
Pluto Relinquish - Brosoni and Ringo both got 1 miss on X2, I think I recall an FC back on SN2 but I'm not sure
POSSESSION - Not FC'd yet (???) (I think I remember one for some reason)

Trigger - FC'd at least once by Brosoni, 8 greats
Valkyrie dimension - FC'd at least 3 times by 513 and once by Ringo

If anyone knows more exact numbers (besides score), let me know and I'll edit this.

On an unrelated note, I find it rather interesting that NO ONE has yet passed Valkyrie dimensionHeavy on Encore Extra Stage ON VIDEO. There's one photo, one results screen video, and 2 videos on VS REPLICANT, but never a full video of EES VDHeavy pass.

I really hope your not just going by the videos you've watched. I'm willing to bet for every good video there is with someone getting a good score there are several others with better scores off video.

And yes, i meant singles.

I'm talking about proven scores. Either there's an image of the results screen, or the score is high enough that you must FC/PFC to get that score.

The second condition is hard because in any song, 1 Marvelous and 2 Greats can be exchanged for 2 Perfects and 1 Good/Miss without affecting the score at all. Therefore, a score must either be a Black Flag or a PFC to prove an FC without the results screen.

You do know that in the land of e-Amusement, anything the game says is a high score is basically a proven score?

Assuming there are videos of all good players/plays is silly. A lot of arcades in Asia especially are touchy about cameras for reasons I don't care to find out. (I still took them anyway.)

I found something interesting. In Disney World, the DDR X2 US dedicab is in "perfect condition," according to my friend who's there right now and tried it. This automatically made me think that Disney paid a lot of money to get Betson to make a really good machine for them, yet almost all other machines are pure crap.

This is bullsh*t >.>

Give it 2 weeks. It'll turn into a sticky missfest before you know it.

"Give me a steady beat."
Yeah. The problem with the X2 machines in America appears to be that they do in fact work perfectly... then start to fail in a matter of weeks or months depending on the location's traffic.
