Down / Marian Hill
BPM: 85
Length: 2:04
9
Can you guess which arrow I put a lot of emphasis on?
Didn't count up the points but it definitely meets the criteria. Hopefully my footswitch usage isn't too confusing. Charts I use them in tend not to do well so idk

[HARD DANCE BABY] Relect - "THIS IS HDM"
2 7 8 9 ⒒
I'm not using all the techniques outlined in Gatr's doc, but it easily breaches the 5-point requirement.
And yes, I know what I'm doing.
I've also managed to get the easy, medium, and hard slots to fulfill the criteria.
So if you see a rating more suited to your taste, you should try the chart it's attached to.

No file for me this week. It was either choosing between stepping something or seeing my missus and getting drunk whilst watching hilariously dumb movies.
I made the correct decision.

My apologies to 01angel, I was planning on stepping this beforehand I promise I wasn't copying you and in fact I created a chart for Ain't My Fault like 7 months ago but never uploaded it so in a way you're copying me HA!
Anyway, I consider this my "intro to crossovers, spins and footswitches," as it's a 6 but probably kinda easy to BS your way through if you start to have trouble.

Hi. I uploaded a technical clusterfuck.
https://zenius-i-vanisher.com/v5.2/viewsimfile.php?simfileid=32489
Crossovers: +0.5 x 6 (there's a noticeable amount, as I usually like. :P)
Spins: +0.5 x 2 (There's 7, they follow a particular string of notes that appears that many times - one)
Footswitches: +1 x 3 (again, there's 7)
Sideswitches: +5
Jacks: +1 x 3
Brackets: +0
Bursts: +1 x 3 (numerous 32nd bursts that are a quarter note long)
Total: 18
It's all 95 BPM, hopefully I did it right.
I decided to give myself the challenge of trying to step every note as technically accurate as possible. The result is a giant rainbow of a chart and one of the weirdest simfiles I've made.
I'll try to add two lower difficulties + graphics + background movies.

I thought it was hooky who previously uploaded a file based on Lush Life...
Anyways, I would like to present my new file to everyone on this forum:
MIAMI/ SLICK
3/ 5/ : 8
A cover of Will Smith's song. The inspiration to step this came from chewi's earlier file, as well as listening to this particular cover on DANCEMANIA SUMMERS 2. It's designed to be a DDR 3rd Mix-style file, but it qualifies for this week mainly due to some footswitchy 270/360-degree spins.

月夜LOVESONG / ミカヅキBIGWAVE
BPM: 68.5 - 137
9
Orig Desc: The odds might be against me, but I present with my last stepfile for this contest. It's been a good run.
This song, and its redacted chart, will be revised as part of my next jukebox, which ***might*** come out later this year.

Can't believe this is (maybe~) my last song for this year Summer Contest. I'm probably get qualified to VIP room, but I'm not so sure.
Bye for now!

Naaah, it's okay~I'm the "copycat" in yet another way... \( ̄▽ ̄;)/
The only reason why I chose Ain't My Fault was because it was the final song of Just Dance 2017 so I'm basically copying them >_<

Not exactly the most original song choice, but this one's been in my wip-finish-at-some-point list for so long now. It has some normal footswitches, some triple footswitches (that can be hit as triple jacks) and a single bracket stomp. Plus a bunch of crossovers and some jacks. I wouldn't call the chart so technical that it becomes a gimmick though. Hopefully it plays and flows well.
I'd add some lower difficulties, but my head hurts and I don't want to look at more arrows right now bleh. Might be added in a later release

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away I made this simfile for DDR SuperNOVA 3, but it got replaced by Z -The New Legend- so it was never released. So here we are, more than a year later, and now it is finally being released. The challenge chart easily beats the 5 point mark with its 300-BPM 16th trills, 300-BPM 8th crossovers, and small blend of spins and footswitches. Please enjoy this simfile, as it is my last chance into the VIP room

Since this week's theme is technical steps and because there is no file to step for this week (although I do have to finish a file for Technical Showcase 2 :v), I'm considering giving detailed feedback on the technical aspects of the files this week, since I haven't done file reviews since maybe two SCs ago, possibly live on Twtich. If I do I'll post the results if anybody if people are interested and all.

I'm also planning on doing this - I was thinking about streaming a pad playthrough, but don't hold me to that specifically :V

This would be great. I'm personally concerned for what I did with my file, I'd like to know how to improve.
Speaking of my file:
nightowl - Savant
- 2, - 8, - 11
Updated with graphics + video + lower difficulty charts. Please redownload if you did before 16:59 UTC.
Videos of note:
Lens appear during any footswitch in . For the samples it follows, if it sounds higher in pitch, it's a sideswitch. If it's lower, it's a normal footswitch.
Blob thing appears during any gimmick.
Kaleidoscope balls appear during any lateral/afronova in .
Lights appear during any 32nd burst.
The lens, kaleidoscope, and light videos all have specific sounds (that get used multiple times) they go to. The other stuff (such as the rotating objects/void tunnel/eggs/etc.) are mostly there to flow with the song and what it visually gives off to me. I primarily see green+black+blue with this song, especially considering where I discovered it at (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5d1DNtzFAM&t=7m25s). This song mostly plays during Dr. Bad Boons' base and it just... lines up very well with it somehow.
Good luck have fun.

2/3 of the votes are in, just waiting on the final one to finish up. Incidentally, some of you didn't quite send your votes in properly. Might want to fix them up, Pandy has sent you PMs if you're one of these people. I know it's post-deadline but you know what my schedule's like, I'll let you sort it out.
