I don't own DDR Wii, for good reason. Konami went back to their old tricks of super delayed releases for Europe so I returned the favour in kind by refusing to give them my money.
Plus their new trick of not getting any exclusive licences, therefore releasing exactly the same fucking game.Change a few logos, artwork, add some languages = 6 months work obviously... </s>

Yeah, I'm just running out of space in my room for PS2/Wii/PS3/360 pads.
Really? My Wii pads are so flimsy, I think at least two of them completely broke in the 3+ years I've had them. DDR II comes just in time for me to replace them.(Speaking of Wii dance mats, wouldn't Konami have to make completely new ones for the WiiU? I've read that there's no functionality for Gamecube controllers.)

From what we currently know, this is correct. The upside is that they will probably start using USB connectors and that suits me because I have two padded mats that have USB adaptors which I'd rather use.
It might also be possible to buy Gamecube to USB adaptors that would work, although I'm not sure on that.

Except the Wii games had different songs from the PS2 games except for 3-X2 and 4-PS3. o.o; I didn't see any songs from Hottest Party 2 on DDR X. Of course, that's me not knowing any release dates and such for the games, but I'm guessing the PS2 games went SuperNOVA -> SuperNOVA 2 -> DDR X -> X2. D:
And dude, DDR X barely had anything new if the SimFile list for it is any indication. There was songs I loved in DDR X, but finding them here was a pain because I didn't realize they were already in past games. It's fine enough, I guess, since most of them seemed to come from JP games/arcades, but really now...

Looking up a video of the Mode though, my first thoughts are: "Just Dance in DDR form", which isn't actually a bad thing. I'd actually say that Konami should drop the ridiculously difficult songs and instead focus on making hands like this more a part of the main game and putting the challenge in there.
Looks a lot more fun than flailing my legs just so that I can say that I FC'd a song. Actually moving the game more towards actually choreographed dancing sounds fun and it might rekindle interest in the franchise.

Indeed, it was a very fun thing. It should have stuck around for DDR 2011. D8

Awesome idea! In fact, BRB, I'm just off to tell all those Project Rainfall guys that they shouldn't have to worry about the games they want being released in America, they should just import them and a European Wii! I'm sure that they won't respond by telling me to go screw myself!
Okay, so that came out a little more harsh than I intended, however the point still stands: When Europe is screwed over it's "oh well, you guys are used to this by now, right? Sucks for you...", but then AMERICA doesn't get a release and it's all "GRR, ARGH! How could they even CONSIDER doing this to us! Petition, email, complain; GIVE US OUR RELEASE!".

I'm not like that at all, so I'd never say such a thing. o_o; Sorry if I made you mad with that comment, though...I guess it was a careless thing to say. But that's how I feel about it. If someone's that upset about missing out on a game, just import, no matter where one is from. "OTL

No, that's not at all what he's saying. He means, recent European DDR games have many month delays over the North American versions and have nothing except other languages to show for it. In the past, European DDR games had a set of new licenses to make up for the delays, some of which were pretty awesome, and it's disappointing that Europe has nothing unique or special to make up for their insane delays on release dates.

Aren't European gamers used to being anally raped at a regular basis?

Yeah, when was the last time you turned on a DDR (or Dancing Stage) game and played to a song by Kylie Minogue, Spice Girls, Atomic Kitten, Sugababes and STEPS. I miss merging USA, Japan and European content on my Stepmania folders.

Yeah, and on the rare occasions that Europe gets thrown a bone, there's no guarantee that the UK won't STILL be screwed over.Post #789 · Posted at 2011-08-14 07:47:13pm 14.2 years ago

As we all know, this was used as a joke, and it is most definitely not, and this is also why DDR 2010 sucked. hard. Because the songs were OK, but they were horribly stepped. The theme looks like I made it, and this 'goods count towards your combo' shit is really annoying.
Overall: DDR 2010, worst DDR ever

When did you last play some of the Xbox games?
Also, and I *think* I'm qualified enough on chart making for this to be relevant, but Hottest Party 4 has my favorite DDR chart of all time.

If it makes you feel better, DDR X is my 3rd favorite DDR. o.o
DDR 2010 is my favorite because it improved plenty of things. Realistically proportioned characters (though I never minded the "chibi' look...), routines for all songs except for Megamixes and NYE, the ability to choose which dancers are on the screen, Choreograph mode, awesome KOs like Until The End of On The Night Of A Still Wind, etc...What would have made the game better is Wi-Fi. D8
And what's wrong with goods not breaking your combo? I would have loved something like that for Hottest Party 3, where I was SO CLOSE to an FC of Pluto The First Difficult, only to lose it to 2 goods. .-. I don't think it's such a bad thing at all. Plus I see that blue crown, I take it to mean I've gotten better, but I can strive to improve even more and make it into a green/gold crown. It's incentive ti improve, I think. I like seeing SOMETHING there rather than nothing, especially if it's a difficult song like CRAZY LOVE. D:

The problem with it is they are trying to fix a formula that already works, and it's inconsistent with the arcade counterparts anyways.

Fairy Red, you have to view this from a veteran/expert DDR player standpoint that has been with the arcade series, with their counterparts, for many years. We honestly don't care about the Wii series, or at least a majority of us do not, mainly because it is not true to the arcades. Now, since they are trying to turn the Wii series into the arcade "half-port", we are suddenly interested and only really wish to keep our own features from the long line of arcade ports that were on the PS/PS2.

Has there been any sort of confirmation for a downloadable version of the game for the PS3? If not I'd be pretty bummed because then there would be no way I could actually enjoy the game D:

Didn't the game offer some sort of "downloadable version" to keep on your PS3? I know i've read somewhere that DDR 2010 had a key for you to use if you wanted to download the game onto your HDD or something along those lines...someone is free to correct me if i am wrong/has more information on this.Post #798 · Posted at 2011-08-15 01:08:01am 14.2 years ago

I have a ton of respect for Fairy Red, because he sounds excited whenhe's talking about new DDR games, and seems to genuinly enjoy all of the games for what they are.
I wish there were a dozen more people like him on the forums. DDR would be a lot more fun for all of us.

Sadly, not everyone is like that. I tried the Hottest Party series (1 and 2) and didn't really like the interface nor the song selection, but then again that is my preference. You have to also think that besides the Universe series, the main DDR series has really been solid with the Sony systems, so players have a stronger affinity with the PS DDR series and can see the Wii series as a spin-off rather than canon. (not degrading to stepmania or anything >>)
