The speakers in the Boom Boom Boom stage in DDR X/X2 US (idk about Japan) changed their beat patterns in X2. In X they were in sync with the beat of the song, but in X2 they beat whenever an arrow is hit. Just something that I noticed and felt like sharing.
DDR X USA CS was really random or to the beat. DDR X JPN went to the arrow. Then pretty much ARC and everything else does the same now

Just something that came up after I saw Kon's most recent video.
Gentle Stress (AMD mix) has two names. Gentle Stress (AMD Sexual Mix) and (AMD Sensual Mix)

(AMD SEXUAL MIX) & (SENSUAL MIX) is how they're titled.
Yeah, that happened in the American DDRMAX. Then it became canon in the SuperNOVA arcade. I will always rock the original title.

Yup. It sucks that they censored the blood and the sexual titles in the graphics. Yeah, that happened in the American DDRMAX. Then it became canon in the SuperNOVA arcade. I will always rock the original title.

One thing I found intresting is in DDR Max ps2 you can not AAA Spin the disc. The last frezze arrow dose not get counted on heavy.

For whatever reason I realised when you scroll through the DDR X PS2 songlist, when you go through the boss songs the bpm is always a triple digit number. Why, I don't know.

I don't remember if this is mentioned but I remember you can get extra miss steps on 5th if you reverse the skip. Pretty much DXY! was a good example on how to do it if it's still on youtube. Also trip machine luv mix. USA/3rd mix era you could fail the last step and still pass.

One of the trials in the Phantom DX showdown was to pass Hit n' Slap on challenge when there isn't even a challenge level for the song. I played the trial today and I think it's still the expert steps(I didn't have a lot of time to check though)

The American EXTREME gave MAXIMIZER a non-existent Challenge chart as well. Usually a mission would give you steps that weren't originally in the song but it would be a fragment of a chart. On rare occasion it would be a whole chart.

O.K.s in DDRMAX do not add to your score during the song. They do factor in how much your bonus is on the results screen.

It makes sense actually. Programming a game for the 360 is essentially programming a game for Windows (2003 to be exact) and DDR has been running on XP Embedded since DDR X.
DDR X2 may have been built from the UNIVERSE 3 codebase.
DDR X2 may have been built from the UNIVERSE 3 codebase.
I'm actually starting to think they could have just reused code from the other PC-based Bemani games, then skinned it/built it to be able to behave like the SN2 engine.

Just played DDR Solo 2000 and I realized that arrows in a jump have individual judgments. So aside from the fact that you get two combos in a jump just like in Max-Extreme, if you stepped on one arrow in a jump and missed the other one, that one arrow you stepped will register while the one you missed will obviously break the combo.
And apparently, you can get AAA with a full combo, even with lots of greats. (I wonder what will the grade be if it was a PFC)

True, but the trial was a whole chart. I never did check out the Maximizer trial.Post #797 · Posted at 2011-10-27 07:54:11pm 14 years ago

Oh yeah, and ULTRAMIX had a full (and intentionally offsync) chart for Sweet Sweet Love Magic as one of its challenges. Hilarity.

Full Chart edits for US-EXTREME:
SO IN LOVE and B4U (B4-ZA BEAT MIX) both had full-song stream charts.
KEEP ON MOVIN' and DROP THE BOMB both had edits with jumps added in.
i feel... had a chart that acted as a sort of "freeze arrow positioning maze."
MAXIMIZER had it's extra voltage chart.
ABSOLUTE and Firefly, IIRC, had the speed-warped versions; which I remember being hilarously fun too. How could you simfile that, though? (And WOULD you?)
IIRC, DDR FESTIVAL shared some of US-EXTREME's charts, because it was only 50 challenges long, not the full 100. About the only ones it had on it's own were There 4 You (stream chart), and... what was it's "freeze arrow maze" again? I want to say SOMETHING WONDERFUL, but that doesn't seem right.
And the equivalent stages on DS FUSION:
Try 2 Luv.U and CANDY* had the full-song streams.
HEAVEN AND EARTH and DYNAMITE RAVE (Down Bird SOTA Mix) had a complete rechart, rather than the jump-edits.
Tomorrow Perfume was the "freeze arrow maze" chart.
MAXIMIZER featured the same chart as the rest. In fact, it was the only one to appear in all 3 games, IIRC.

These Mission Mode edits are great and interesting. Has anybody done simfiles on these?
Well, the ones that don't change the tempo of the song or something, like Frozen Ray.
