Submit your files with the prefix "[Round 1] - " yes, the dash matters. And space it right.

Seems like the round begins on June 6th, 17:00 UTC (which Junko was referring to when he said "two more days!"), and ends on June 13th, 17:00 UTC, which is the deadline.

If we're doubling down on a ranking system, here's what I propose:

- Every new player starts on 1000 points.
- For each match, the winner takes 10% of the loser's score (rounding for decimals, .500 rounds up)
- No change for ties.

This works because it means that an expected curbstomp is worth much, much less points than a shock upset. So, here's how a sample of three rounds would go down:

I have 1000 points, you have 1000 points.
I kick your ass. You give me 10% of your score, which is 100 points.
I have 1100 points. You have 900 points.
If we face again, and I win again, you give me 10% again, but it's only 90 points.
I'm on 1190, you're on 810.
You face me a third time, and this time, you get the win. Presumably I step too much obscure mid-00s Eurovision.
This time, I give you 10% of my score, which is 119 points.
So now I'm on 1071 points, and you're on 929.

Basically, even if you lose 10 in a row, you'll still have about 350 points, and anyone who gets a win over a big name is going to be right back in the rankings.

This is really easy to implement in something like ToI, you could extend this across all competitions if you want to make this ZIv's thing. We have enough steppers to make this work, and it means that we'll keep the scene competitive, meaning we'll all get better as a result. Everyone wins, everyone's happy. Except for me, who typed all this out when I really should be working.

I second this way of doing things. I've never seen it done before on here, so I doubt that it would hurt to try. Main reason for this is that we could turn this into a Swiss Format, where no one is eliminated, and entrants are simply paired against one another, depending on how the previous rounds went (possibly adjacent seeds depending on the whole points thing, if people do not automatically call out who they want to match up against for each round).

My idea is to make this an ongoing thing, not used to determine tournament seeding but just a constantly updating table so there's a nice bit of competition going on outside the tournaments too.

What are the requirements for the simfiles? Do they still need to have , , and charts or just a chart?

My guess is that unless there are any special stipulations made beforehand, the simfiles need to have all the required components of a nornal contest file, including all charts.

Oni-91, if you or another user would like to run an Elo ladder, you may do so, but this specifically runs for two rounds only (or three if SC is late for some reason)
