That said, the NX2 pads are pretty awesome. As are Zero's.

I'm much, much better at DDR than PIU, but playing on an NX machine is a way more satisfying experience than playing on a DDR cabinet. The quality of the screen and background videos put DDR to shame.

However, many of the songs on PIU are either really corny sounding to me, or in the case of Banya, they're blatant rip offs of well known classical songs.

"No."
The only problem is that the NX have those widescreens, which makes some significant lag.

At least on the ones I have played on.

"I'm honestly pissed off."
The only problem I have with PIU is the PRO machine near me has that huge screen, so I feel like I'm going to fall in, and I can't see enough to respond quickly. I'm so used to playing where I can see the whole screen.

That said, the NX2 pads are pretty awesome. As are Zero's.

But the NX2 pads can be broken easily.....

the NX2 pad in my city has broken more than 10 panels..... Dead (I'm not lying)
but it's very cheap (about US$ 0,2 / credit) Very Happy 2 stages + 1 bonus (stage break = off)
it was a brand new dedicab.... Cool

Pump it up is a pretty toothful delicacy excluding the not so good selection of songs in it.
The stepcharts aren't all that bad...I like spinning, etc.
The songs...meh...some are decent...
The pads are not all that bad as well. =P
All in all...it's mediocre...

I wonder if your PIU experience is failing one song and declaring it shit because you lack this thing called skill.

"I did nothing wrong."
... I don't understand what's going on here, but I'll send this bad boy back on track.

Now, yes, I'm not the BIGGEST fan of PiU, but I have to admit, it is crazy fun. The songs are wonderful and it's just fun. I'm only concerned with the pads, that's all. And the fact that the arcade I go to doesn't have a PiU in it. Big Grin
But it is still fun.

So... when are they gonna make another?

I must admit, at least PIU has some fun factor in it... (some cool stepcharts and high quality videos)

and the pads are very excellent, even though it could break easily... Sad

so I think PIU isn't that bad, coz it's very different from DDR.....

And we can't judge them by their differences.....

Playing PIU on Crazy will increase your speed skill, like it did to me Happy

I've been playing Pump for the last several years and officially made the switch from four to five panels within the last year or two. When I encountered Pump for the first time, I hated the game simply because it seemed like a DDR knockoff. I played it a few times but kept playing DDR EXTREME and previous mixes up to that point. I eventually came across Pump (EXCEED 2) again and started playing it while waiting to play DDR at my local arcade. Once Pump It Up NX made its US debut I began playing weekly at Disney Quest (since I had an annual pass) and got better little by little. I still play weekly at various locations in the Central Florida area and have taken a liking to NX2, NXA, and Pro.

I still play DDR and ITG, but not nearly as much as Pump. I like them all on the same level, but Pump is like a comfort food to me. And for some strange reason I am able to play Doubles on both DDR and ITG from playing Doubles on Pump, weird .O_o.
