Z-I-v Summer Contest 2014 [CLOSED]

Perhaps an All or Nothing! (or some better name) week would make the difficulty restriction viable - something like "Charts must be either all 6 or under or at least 10, at least 13."

Not sure if I can make this one because I'm working on some other SM related stuff and tossing around ideas for the next gimmick comp, what would probably amount to 1 FG chart a week is not good for me right now.

Sign me up; I want to try to improve my showing The only thing I have to do to improve is to qualify, so hopefully I will manage that this time. Although I'm scared about having to conform to all the different themes...

There's no qualifying round or anything this time. It's not an elimination tournament like Tournament Of Immortals is. Everyone can submit one file every round.

I have one quick question: If we don't submit a simfile one week, then do we still have to vote on the other simfiles submitted during that time period? (I just don't know if I'll get around to trying everything)

I don't think banned users can upload simfiles anyway (not anymore) but just in case I'm wrong I got rid of him. Don't want a drama show week 1.

I'm not entering or planning on entering any of these tournaments any time soon because I've yet to make a chart that would be fun to play on pad.

But anyways, what program do you guys use to cut your songs?

I use Audacity. I find the exact time parameters to cut and then just snip it off like foreskin.

Anyway, this week seems interesting enough. I guess I'll be looking through my NOW CDs to see if I can get a good idea for what to step.

Most people usually use Audacity, but I prefer using FL Studio. It gives me a good bit of control, plus I've been using it for five years, so yeah.

Anyways, nostalgia. I know exactly what I'm stepping.

Oh, and here's some catagory ideas;

[SPEEEEEEDCOOOOOORE!]: Make a chart for a song that has a BPM of 190 or higher without inflation.
[Cross Your Fingers, Cross Your Legs]: Make a chart with a high amount of crossovers!
[Chaos]: Make a chart with an unnecessarily high amount of stops! (At least 15.)
[Stomp To My Beat, Then Stomp Again]: Make a chart with lots of double-steps!
[ITG mode activated!]: Max out the Groove Radar!
[Airborne]: Max out the Air section of the Groove Radar!
