I would have thrown a punch no matter how much bigger he was than me. I get pissed off when people start messing with me and I'm not playing for fun.

Well...We know that, but other people who think that its stupid or embarrassing to play a game that involves something physical is beyond retarded...Then they try to make a point by trolling us by mocking us and pushing us off the stage or even purposely getting in the way by putting a foot over the back step to mess us up. But in due time they end up paying for messing with us by getting hit or stomped on.
Karma's a bitch as they say. Lol
EDIT: Then again...Guitar Hero, Band Hero...Hell practically almost every Harmonix games have some sort of physical element to it, but people don't do anything to them!! I think it's discrimination again otaku's or something...Unless you play the licensed mainstream songs then its considered "fun" but if you play the more challenging Konami originals you're declared "One who has a lot of time." Ugh I really hate people a lot.

Uh, I don't think it's really anything against "otakus" (god dammit I absolutely loathe that term). I've seen people of pretty much every clique playing DDR. I think it has to do more with the fact that flailing around to Japanese techno music just looks silly to the average gamer who probably masturbates to Madden and Halo.

Mmm...Good point.
"Masturbates to Madden and Halo"
I wouldn't be surprised to be honest

Today: After playing, a kid tries to steal my USB while saving, corrupting my data. I actually remained calm and went to his mom, who was nice and gave me 5 bucks.

Awww D: That sucks. I would have snapped if it was me because my USB drive has roughly 15 GB of content on it At least it was nice of the mother to compensate for your data loss.Post #69 · Posted at 2011-09-25 08:58:04am 12.9 years ago

I was playing failing 888 and these kids about my age came up and weren't trying to annoy me (I think) but they were very expressive about their opinions of my dancing. "OOOOOH!!!! WHOOOOAAAA! *collective gasp*"

So quick story, I was playing Saber Wing when some little girl comes running by. Instead of going around the machine and pads, she has the brilliant thought of trying to go through me while i'm still playing. I didn't notice until it was too late and she forced me off the pad.

Hey. Child here. (Well, relatively.) I get that you're pretty mad at us kids stepping on the other pad in single-player mode.
There was this one time I was at a Timezone and was watching some guy playing on an ITG machine. I had never actually played an arcade version before, but I wanted to at least get the feel for it. So I just got on the other side and tried it out. (I don't think he was too pissed about it.) I think if you're not just fooling around and actually want to practice, without being graded or worrying about credits/money, taking the other side is really a better option than standing a few feet away stepping awkwardly and trying to visualize the pad.

II sually give 3 warnings and if the child still ignorwes, then I'll keep on playing with the risk of stomping on the kid's feet.

This is where I play ITG. It's the Ann Arbor Ice Cube, a place with a crapton of skating rinks. People bring their kids with them and let the (rather small) arcade babysit them. Some of the kids are kinda cute and sing along if I play Bumble Bee, but others are just annoying and swing on the bars. The arcade is in an area with a lot of foot traffic and lockers on the other side of the room, so sometimes there will be 300+ people in the room and 50+ kids. Part of the reason I uploaded the video below is to show that some parents actually act like parents around dance games.

I was trying to Climb Mode, on Single, After The Game of Love (play charts from Basic to Expert) when a parent let his child step on the 2P pads.
Needless to say, my concentration on the Climb Mode got ruined.

I guess that kind of thing is fine, but you should probably ask the person playing if you can shadow them first.
Nice avatar by the way. I love Regular Show.

Yeah, I don't know how much the old school "etiquette" rules are adhered to anymore, but you generally ask the paying player if it's alright first. Usually, it is.

"Oh god what I have dooooone?!" |
Well I never. Just had some chick jump on the pads next to me and give me a heart attack by shouting 'HI' at me.
'fuck off' I said.
'what?'
*turn slightly*
PISS OFF!
and then SHE had the nerve to get offended.
I am NOT in the mood for this today.
More to the point, she didn't make herself known before jumping on. She shouted to try give me a surprise or something. So I responded in fucking kind.

"Give me a steady beat." |
A long while back, while playing a 5thMIX in a movie theater (rest in peace, DDR machine) a punk preteen girl was with her boyfriend(?) and they started arguing loudly right next to the machine. I was starting to get annoyed but then I heard her tell the boy off with 'you never hug me in public, it's like you're afraid to admit you like me'. She then turns to -me- while I'm between songs and says "Give me a hug!". Because it struck me as funny I turned without pausing and bear hugged her off the ground (I was standing on the stage and she was not) and then turned around and proceeded to pick a song like nothing had happened. She turns to the boy and says "See? It's not hard!" and they both walk away miffed at each other.
I chortled.
I chortled.

wow I completely missed that video on page 3. what the fuck. I would have decked the shit out of that guy. Like, dived on him and killed him. And then called the cops for attacking me.
